This is 99% likely to end in a sad and forgettable manner.

I've stated on here quite a few times what a huge fan I was of Nigel Benn but I'm not having this.

It's ridiculous and I find it quite sad, not just with Benn but with Collins too, I think they are both better than this and it will only stain great memories some people have of them both.

I know what you're saying but could this really be PPV?

I thought Eubank Jr Vs Quinlan was a joke but two 50+ year olds?

Maybe this will be the fight that kills PPV LOL

They would want it ppv but 90% of people who buys some of the ppvs like Joshua's fights, won't know who benn or Collins are or seen them fight before. So it may die on its arse.

Yeah it is sad on both their parts really. Even when people say they both look good in the gym, it means nothing until doing the real thing. For Benn to say he is fitter now than when he was in his twenties, regardless of if he lives a cleaner life now than then, is sadly very delusional.

I have no issue watching this. If they pass the medicals then why not? Not as if Benn is going in with Groves or Eubank jr (Although I am sure that has popped into Hearns mind at least once, not that he would ever admit to it.)

Obviously , dispite what he may say, Nige is not going to be in the shape he was in the mid 90's, of course not.

However lets look at it another way. IF he was to come back would he be the most unfit, untrained, unprepared boxer to currently hold a license? Bet he could still beat a few 'pros' who hold a BBBoC licence.

So on all the above factors, who are we to stop him?

    BBBoC won't sanction this unsurprisingly.

    Says who?

I have heard no direct quotes from the BBBoC on this yet. Bunces opinion doesn't count as a direct source.

Besides, even if BBBoC choose not to santion it, doesn't mean it won't be sanctioned and still be able to take place in the UK.

If they want to fight each other and think they can make some money from it then that's their business and all the best to them but personally, I wish they wouldn't. They were the boxing warriors when I was growing up, I believe both of them have nothing but the boxing worlds full respect for what they achieved...it would be a shame to lose a bit of that.

Probably right, but I always thought Collins had too much stamina and toughness for Benn.
