I haven't seen too many Monzon fights. Just a handful of his notable fights. One thing I'm left amazed with though is his sheer, raw physical strength. It's just incredible. I don't think I've seen another fighter who can simply toss around world class opponents like they're 12 year olds. He got inside or in a clinch and he just wrecked you. Almost like he could knock you down by just throwing you to the canvas.
Arguably the strongest p4p fighter was the fighter called Mini Tyson of the 90's who terrorized the Super Flyweights of the 90's Khaosai Galaxy. Galaxy was certainly a gifted puncher, nobody can deny that, but I believe a lot of his sheer physical power came from his Muay thai background. Muay Thai places far more emphasis on the clinches and working from there. Not only was he a naturally strong guy, he was also technically excellent in the clinch in terms of leverage and positioning which helped him look so powerful.
Similar to Monzon, galaxy also is physically imposing for his weight class. Dude is almost always have bigger frame than his opponent. Not as fast or flashy but very heavy handed and skilled puncher. Another one that have big physical dimension for his weight class is Salvador Sanchez. When these 3 trchnicians choose to stay in their weight class, it's really tough to beat.
Khaosai Galaxy also had a really unusual body type for his weight. Most boxers at 115 are lean...but he's got much more of a barrel-chested muscular build. You rarely see a physique like that in the lighter weight classes. I can't think of anyone offhand with a build like that. His hands were really fast too, much faster than is typical for real "bomber" type power punchers. Also very good accuracy of his punches. His only real weaknesses were his short reach and sometimes questionable defense, but no one ever was able to exploit those because his offense was so overwhelming.

Galaxy is one of the greatest Asian fighter ever, probably in the top 3 or 5. Superb puncher. I remember he came to Indonesia to fight our first champion in Ellyas Pical. Pical who was a boxer have success early, but as the round goes by the pressure starting to get to him and end up getting pounded.
Jeff Fenech at bantam. Ike Quartey at welter although fighters competing in days of same-day weigh ins are at a disadvantage. Ike, with 36 hours to rehydate, was probably a decent sized middleweight by the time the fight started. Although, to be fair, the same could be said of his opponent. Randy Turpin was a good shout. Similar in build to Michael Watson, who was strong too. Also Sandy Saddler and Eusebio Pedroza. Stringbeans with deceptive strength. Mind you, they may have looked strong partly because their opponents were reeling from being kneed in the gonads or some such filthy underarm tactic.
I've read that Amilcar Brusa, Monzon's trainer, was once a wrestler and taught Monzon basic wrestling moves based on superior leverage.
