Agree the public here in germany wanted (and still want) AA vs Sturm but that didn't change the fact that Sturm ducked his mandatory Golovkin. Thats well documented. I Blame Universum boxing promotion for it mostly because they didn't want it back then but Sturm still cleary ducked Golovkin.

    exactly!

in fact, GGG's Team had filed a petition (a matter of public record) to have GGG's WBA regular converted to WBA super. That petition would have been non-sense if there was an active WBA super champ

Eastman took that fight on short notice, and lost a controversial decision, while gassing after six or seven rounds. Had the fight been someplace other than Germany, Eastman probably would have gotten the nod. Yeah right, if guys like Monroe, and Rosado are touching Golovkin up, what would the Allen from the first couple Hopkins fights do to Golovkin? I tell you what, a guy like Echols wasn't afraid to let his hands go. Guys like Lemieux and Rubio were scared to even punch back half the time. Golovkin's level of opposition is probably the lowest out of any middleweight since the 1940s.

I'm actually in the same boat, I hate to see it but I see Canelo winning. Golovkin definitely has some advantages that make me rethink my pick from time to time, but I just think Canelo will be sharper in the exchanges and that Golovkin is easier to hit.

But then you consider the force that GGG's punches generate and compare that to Canelo's.

Golovkin should knock El Pollo out........................however, El Pollo knows that Oscar tells the referee, judges and Vegas boxing commission what to do. El Pollo will come out and quickly starting hitting Golovkin in the balls, then Weeks will will stop it..........................it's called a green stoppage.............

El Pollo is losing his feathers over the stress of this fight.

No long ago, El Pollo gave up his tite rather than fight Golovkin, even with his personal judges, referee and boxing commission, I guess Oscar has assured El Pollo of a win by criminal decision, a kick to the testicles or whatever, boxing is becoming WWE, hell, I expect El Pollo to use chairs, hammers, anything.............

why you lying? eastman had "reg" in 2007.

Not good news for the fool who "liked" your post either.

if 3g wanted a world title belt he could have gone out and won one if he felt capable, there is no excuse for parading around a 2nd tier non-qualifiying belt for 3 years pretending it meant something.

that said, with luck 3G will soon reach double figures, I am hoping.

Canelo has enough pop to keep a Golovkin sized guy honest. He's also brilliant at timing his punches well.

At the top level, power doesn't have the same effect. Golovkin is certainly the harder puncher but if he can't deliver accurately it doesn't matter as much. Canelo is hard to hit clean with anything other than a jab or sneaky straight off a feinted jab. As crappy as his feet are his upper body movement is great.

The body doesn't move though. Go to the body. There it is for Golovkin.

The body is definitely key for Golovkin. And Canelo can't do what he did against Liam smith and just lay there waiting for him to finish before countering. I get the feeling Canelo is going to be practicing a lot of uppercut counters for when Golovkin goes to the body which will make him wary. My biggest thing with Golovkin is that he waits for opponents to finish when they're throwing fast combinations. He doesn't have an active defense, it's very passive.

Golovkin was Sturm's mandatory and has tried to make a fight with Sturm in 2008/2009 but Sturm ducked him. He also tried to make fights with Pavlik and Martinez during that time. N'Dam N'Jikam ducked him later too
The Top Middleweights knew about Golovkin before his breakthrough on HBO in 2012
