If you guys every close round to your favorite boxer of course it looks like he win. The proper way to score it is to disregard the close rounds and see who has more points total. Peoples brains are wired for bias.

and you don't score based on whatever criteria you want. because criteria isin't clear in boxing you generally only score the rounds that were very clear.

This is much worse than any HBO call. They've never gone as unreasonably over the top as Teddy and Smith have tonight. They have no right to talk about what's bad for boxing: THEY are bad for boxing. And it's insulting to Horn's effort.

Oh definitely, neither can. This was like Hopkins vs Joe Smith Jr. Pacquiao had no athleticism. Total old man. But what I saw was a rather average veteran beating a rather average novice. Blocking or dodging about 85% of the guys punches and doubling his connects. 182-92 punches sounds like what I saw. Horn was busier. He came forward all night. But you have to hit the guy too.

I'm so sickened by it I cut it off, they're being flat out repulsive. Horn deservedly just pulled one of the biggest upsets of the last 5 or 6 years, give the man his ****ing due, and don't rob him of this moment.

Horn is a couple inches taller than Pac, had more reach than Pac, and likely had 15 pounds on him in the ring, with his weight cut being as hard as they claimed it was. Horn's awkward, amateurish footwork, angles, and movement, actually gave Pac some issues, with setting up his offense. That had a lot to do with Horn winning rounds on the judges scorecards. Pac hardly ever had a chance to set anything up. Pac's big showy punches were few and far between. While Horn wasn't landing much in that category either, Horn was outworking Pac in the clinches. The ESPN commentary outside of Bradley was clearly biased for the house fighter, which was Pacquiao. Pac definitely didn't meet expectations with his showing in the ring, but Horn had a lot to do with that.

At least you as a Pac fan can acknowledge that whether Pac deserved more rounds or not it was a brawl that both guys were in.

Pac didn't block most of Horn's shots; he partially blocked them. Meaningful distinction. You don't get as much credit defensively for diminishing a punch's force by getting a piece of your glove in the way to cushion it as you do for outright avoiding it or picking it off (a "clean" block, where no part of the opponent's fist touches a legal scoring area on you whatsoever)

Second of all - body work. You sure you weren't ignoring Horn's? Esp. in the clinch?

Jesus, get Stephen A away from boxing. And you're right, I thought Pac won a pedestrian affair
but ultimately the fact that he's severely slipped lets me know what I've been saying is right,
He has nothing for the top WWs. Horn's rough wild stuff didn't impress me at all and he'd get
picked apart from a younger horse, anyone in the division's top 10.

How much did Pac want for a fight against Crawford ? 20 MiL ? Arum was like ' Ha ! No you don't ! I'll show you . If not..then Horn vs Bud wont cost him nearly as much as a fight involving Pac. Crazy. Arum always does this..

not true, ive heard him speak of loma. Stephen A knows boxing. He is what boxing needs if ESPN is going to carry more boxing, and I think you will see that knowledge come out in the fights ahead

You are right. This has got to be the biggest moment of his life. I guess they could lay off a little. I hope Australian tv is celebrating him.

I had it 118 to 110 Pacquiao. It was a total robbery. It was not a close fight. I gave Jeff the first round which was close and the sixth round which was clear. Pac clearly won rounds 2,3,4,5, 9. I thought he marginally won 7, 11 and 12 and edged the 10th. There were five clear to dominant rounds for Pac. 3 that he won marginally. 1 he edged. 1 clear for Jeff and 1 he edged. It is a robbery. I am glad that Teddy got pissed. I am glad that Stephen A got pissed. It does not matter that Manny did not live up to expectations or that Horn exceeded them. Or that Pac looked a bit older and slower. You have to leave that out of the equation and just score the rounds. Boxing is corrupt.
