    He beat loads of top amateurs. Jeff Horn, Jamel Herring & Anthony Yigit to win pre Olympic comp then beat Robson Conceição at Olympics in round 1. He also fought for 18 months in Ams with broken hand, got operated on in 2014 I believe. He wanted to win Commonwealth Gold 2014 so boxed on after breaking it VS Valentino in WSB.

    He has some flaws but only 9 fights & very well rounded game, great talent. I really do believe that but Saturday will tell us more. He's only had one poor pro fight, every other fight pretty much on youtube/dailymotion. He's being moved quick & backing it up so far.

    Haven't been this excited for a fight since Brook vs Spence, this is a HUGE domestic clash between two potential world-class operators and really glad to see it getting some love on the general forum.

    Davies is saying he wants either the winner of Garcia/Broner or Crawford/Indongo next if he wins. Let's see if he can back it up.

    Really good fight. More of this please.

    Taylor on points for me. I've never been that impressed with Davies. Matthews was shot to bits and fighting at a weight he's never been at before and Scarpa...well he is what he is. A sort of British level guy at best really. Davies does seem to have a very long reach and he seems decent enough, but I just think Taylor is a much better fighter technically. I think his hands and feet are faster, and he throws better combinations. We've not seen how either of them hold when the pressure is applied but I think Taylor's AM pedigree will help him greatly in that aspect.

    Good fight. Don't know why Sky covered the Buglioni fight and not this.

    It's on Chanel 5, it's a Cyclone promotions card. Not Matchroom.

    This is been discussed to death on the British forum, you should take a nosey in there from time to time as when there are British fights on the forum's quality of posts is a lot higher than the general. Less trolls/alts etc.

    Because that was a Matchroom card, this fight is a Cyclone promotions event.

    Matchroom = Sky
    Cyclone = Channel 5

    Yeah it doesn't cycle over as much and I haven't been in there for a while as the last time I did it seemed to have plenty of whacked out opinions flying around.

    Weird that this fight hasn't been discussed in the mainstream media much. It also seems a bit early much in the same way Degale Groves was really although I'm certainly not complaining!

    Well, Taylor is apparently unbelievable in sparring. More than held his own against Shawn Porter from what I read. And David Haye had this to say about him at the 5 minute mark.

    Anybody who can come to the conclusion Ohara looks better than Taylor needs their eyes tested. In saying that anything can happen. Davies is awkward. Taylor looks much bigger so I'm not going with the popular opinion that Davies is physically stronger. Taylor is a big light welterweight. Davies is not.

    I predict Taylor via tko mid to late.

    Interesting and very good fight. Davies is a good fighter. Had a good match against Scarpa.
    I think Taylor is a very gifted boxer and I'm rooting for him because I like his style.
    Looking forward to it this weekend.

    You are right he is, initially Hearn made an offer to Taylor to fight Davies on a Matchroom/Sky card but Taylor's team said it wasn't enough money and came back over the top with an offer for Davies to fight on Channel 5 instead. Hearn said the offer was too good to refuse, and that he won't stand in the way of a fighter playing away if the money makes sense.
