Mercer wouldn't have been able to do anything if Sylvia shot for a double or single leg. He was fortunate that Sylvia was stupid enough to open with a low kick which he was easily able to counter with his overhand right. Mercer was tapped out inside a round by Kimbo Slice who is a MUCH worse MMA fighter than Sylvia. Context matters.

 

Mayweather is getting absolutely no where in a street fight with Conor McGregor and anyone who thinks otherwise are clearly 0-3 in street fights against bums.

 

Not completely accurate. There's a lot of things you can do in street fight like elbow to the back of the head, eye gouge etc that aren't legal in wrestling. We just don't know how things will pan out. Sprawling is very effective against wrestlers and isn't particularly hard to learn. Pure wrestlers didn't do very well in the early stages of UFC until they learned grappling/jiu-jitsu.

Back on topic, in a street fight Conor has a larger arsenal of skills he can choose from. Nobody would bet on a 40 year old Floyd to beat McGregor in a street fight. His kicks would be the undoing of Floyd.

 

I highly doubt Tim Sylvia is stupid. He is a great former UFC Heavyweight Champion of the World.

He was just knocked by a better fighter on that night.

 

He was stupid to stand in front of an Olympic gold medalist and former world champion heavyweight boxer, and to throw weak low kicks which are easily countered by the overhand right. Mercer wasn't a top 100 MMA heavyweight, but if you give him that kind of opportunity he'll obviously knock you out. Also. Sylvia was pretty much on his way out and hadn't fought in a year since getting blasted out by Fedor in 30 seconds. Had he been in a good state of mind he obviously would have approached this fight in a more rational way.

 

Until they taste a clean left hook and they lose their legs lol, nobody can beat a boxer in a street fight, it would literally take one hook to break someone's jaw, especially someone who isn't trained to take punches

In a "street fight" Floyd's crew would stomp the **** out of Conor McGregor. That's the actual fact. They tore up a Fat Burger fighting T.I. the rapper, Conor better bring the UFC with him.
All this imaginary fair fight stuff is as much fantasy as most stuff posted on here regarding street fights.

 

seeing the ward vs kov fight and the PAC vs horn fight. If the fight is reffed in the same fashion as the above fights, not only can mcgregor win but he should be a heavy favor.
If the ref turns a blind eye to obvious fouls such as blatant low blows, head butts, takedowns, elbows to face and head, pulling behind the head, and forearm shivers, why would anybody expect the ref to see kicks, subs, or chokes? They are all the same. Illegal in boxing.
Are the same people who justified obvious low blows in the ward kov fight gonna be crying if mcgregor chokes mayweather out cold? Will there be riots?
PAC vs horn was the dirtiest fight since Duran vs buchannon. Props to manny for not looking to the ref like mayweather did vs maidana In the first fight. Mayweather maidana was pine sol fresh in comparison to PAC vs horn.

They wanna take you down and twist your arm. But to take a boxer down you got to get into a boxers punch range. Against a top level World Class boxer who is bare knuckled a wrestler is gonna clipped more often than not. One shot from a World level boxer and it's over. The speed , power and accuracy of pro could seriously injure a normal person in one punch.

Imagine getting hit by a Tommy Morrison left hook bare knuckle? Or a Mike Tyson body punch and upercut combo bare knuckle.? One punch could seriously injure or kill someone to be honest.
