Lewis is an All time great. We can hardly say we have had anything close to him since his retirement. Lennox is not a fair representation of the overall standard of the SHW picture. We have had a whole lot more Breazeale and Charles Martins than we ever have had Lennox Lewis types since the division became an exclusive SHW stronghold.

Joshua?

Andy Ruiz jnr is on the same level as Parker and Joseph Parker is probably #2 only to Anthony Joshua.

So right now, until we see if Joshua really has moved light years ahead of Parker and everyone else, as of now, nobody can say Ruiz jnr is not at the top level.

Like you say Leroy Jones is at least the measure of Andy Ruiz jnr and that guy as of now, is right up there at the moment.

 

Leroy Jones is about equivalent of Tony Thompson is Wlad's era.

Bowe's an interesting one to consider. If he's coming to fight and bringing a lot of pressure, Larry isn't going to be given the space to throw his jab and he'd have to show a ridiculous work rate to keep up with Bowe on the scorecards. Both men would be out on the feet at multiple points.

Anthony Joshua does look like he works out. The guy looks like an athlete. But that's not the typical look of Superheavyweights in the division. Like I showed before, 5 guys contesting major HW titles in the last 12 months look closer Leroy Jones physical appearance than they do Anthony Joshua.

exactly. Jones could fight. It was a pity he was born when he was and for all his SHW attributes he had to come up against a champion that really had the measure of any big guy because Holmes had the reach, the workrate, long range and inside game that I believe was too much for that best of any of that sized guy.

 

Such shallow and biased thinking. Anyone can clutch onto the odd isolated moment from a boxers career and run with it.

One can look at the way peak Larry struggled with the somewhat limited Mike Weaver and envisage what Lewis would do to him. One can also look at how dramatically fringe contender Snipes dropped him and think how the much classier and more powerful Lewis would go.

One can look at how Kevin Howard dropped SRL and think how would he possibly worry Marvin Hagler when adding that to the inactivity.
