Have to beat IYO to be considered P4P #1? P4P is a concept & a discussion & resume plays a part so discuss..

Miguel Berchelt would be a good start, assuming he gets KO Muira.

    Noone.

When Golovkin beats Canelo he's clear choice.

If Loma beats Garcia and Crawford then he can class himself as king.

long way to go till p4p no.1. The more pressure you put on this dude the more likely it is he'll fall short of the ridiculous expectations you all have of him.

It's people like you who put pressure on him.
He's already a two weight world champion and at 29 at his peak.
How has he got a long way to go?
Sorry to be ridiculous enough to have high expectations for 2x
Olympic gold medalist and greatest amateur boxer of all time.
Why would we get excited about statistically the most dominant boxer today? Hmmmm
Wipe the **** from your eyes and enjoy this ridiculous talent!

C'mon we all know how different the pro ranks are to the amateurs. I don't hate Loma I think that's impossible but p4p means different things to everybody and for me it's a lot about resume. Loma looks the part let's just let him beat the best rather than predict it.

Fair enough...guessing you have ward as #1?
manny still has the best resume and floyd will be back in August...so I guess ward will be pushed back to #3 by your logic?
Lomachenko is the best fighter right now by a country mile.
If ward and loma were the same size lomachenko would embarrass him.

Hard to get the fights you guys are demanding for him to achieve p4P top status. Guys are not exactly tripping over ane another to fight him if you have not noticed. Garcia being by far the most open to this but he is much bigger and I did not even consider Crawford due to the size difference.

If Golovkin beats CANELO? Canelo is elite but nothing more, past prime Cotto IMO beat Canelo 115-113 and at least we can call it an 'even fight'. Canelo really isn't that good - arguably lost to Lara, had a very close fight with Trout. He's unquestionably the most overrated of this era.
Who has Golovkin got to back up his resume that's better than Ward's?? Jacobs? Kovalev TKO8, Barrera and carrying forward the success of Super 6 absolutely styles on Golovkin.

Lomachenko only needs to beat Linares/Corrales/Berchelt, Mikey and one more titleholder i.e Flanagan to get it IMO given Ward is taking some easier fights for now until he steps up again against a beast.

If Loma beats Mikey and Crawford, he's not just ****ing P4P number 1, he's a first ballot HOF and a bonafide ATG who gets into my Top 100.

There's going to be 4 contenders:
    Lomachenko
    Ward
    Crawford
    Golovkin/Canelo winner

Manner of victories MATTERS. Canelo does not display skills and H2H ability anywhere near the others. Golovkin is on the slide so he can take a hike with his underwhelming opposition up until Lemieux - so Canelo beating this version of Golovkin isn't the bread and butter to me - Golovkin is stylistically disadvantaged for this fight anyway. He would be coming off a 'victory' that Jacobs has a case for himself.
Canelo-Golovkin winner will be no.2 but they won't rise further (and will be pushed down as Crawford and Loma end up eclipsing them).

Crawford will contest for number 1 if he can clean out 147.
..but then again, Loma P4P is a better fighter than Crawford so will look better beating the scalps at 130/135.

Who P4P number 1 will be in the future depends on whether Ward beats the Tournament winner at Cruiser.
