Hey there, me and my friend were sparring the other day I would want to know what things you guys see that we could improve at It's me in white and black and my friend in green. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B18BSoceP7sBZXNSQzFtSFpkSGs/view?usp=drivesdk
You aren't really doing anything. You don't follow through or commit on any punches and you leave your chin exposed to long as a result. Too much unnecessary head movement probably due to inexperience. Don't duck under and come all the way around when a simple slip to the outside will suffice. Its causing you to get caught when you come back up because you think you are done. You need to start resetting after throwing every punch, combination, head movement, etc. Boxing is one of the most repetitive sports there is. There are pretty much 6 punches and you throw the same thing over and over. Don't be in the mind set of "I just threw all of the combinations I know, what now?" Just keep doing the same thing until you find a weakness.
Green shirt's hands and feet are not in sync when punching, he's just arm punching. White&black - seemed to me like you were mainly practicing defense. Both need to work on punch mechanics.
Thanks for the feedback to all three of you Caiman gracias ya estoy practicando varias cosas que me apuntaste si me falta un poco de práctica mas es esas áreas Mr.dago wop, yeah i know I try to keep my punches at minimal power but it ends up with them being sloppy, since is sparring and all. Jag of troy yes I was mostly practicing defense, my plan of attack is passive aggressive, kind of like the peek a boo style in mike tyson but with the added Bob and weave plus hooks from joe frazier Just in case btw, here's a more intense sparring session, I only have round one but this one is older than the other one (Hard sparring) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B18BSoceP7sBUmtrcWFCcWRJNzg/view?usp=drivesdk
You did a little bit better in the Hard sparring than the other one. You need to learn how to throw a punch. You aren't activating your lower body at all in the punch mechanics. Each time you throw a small flurry it seems you are just jumping at your opponent throwing 3 arm punches. Head movement is a little bit better in the sense that you aren't doing as much unnecessary movement however it is still apparent. Don't get out of range so much and don't let your opponent open up on you so much. Punch with him when you're on the ropes. In an amateur fight it will look bad to the judges if you don't punch back and you might even get a standing 8 count.
Your suffocating your punches when closing the distance, most likely cause he's a south paw and it throws off positioning that your used to with an orthodox.
nice head movement, it saved you a lot of shots. To me its ok if you move your head when you are out of range, it can deceive your opponent when he comes in range. Of course, it is energy taking, so you need to be economic with movement. Punching is another story, guys told you everything about it. In hard sparring you also had problems, mainly because he is southpaw and has a longer reach. Try to stick in close and dont go out of range, just bomb him from inside with more explosive punches and combinations.
