Just confirms what we knew at the time Pac was no longer prime against Mayweather as the earlier KO loss to Marquez suggested.

It doesn't change what any rational person thought at the time about the result. Pac wasn't the same fighter so Mayweather then decided the time was right to fight Pac.

Mayweather was always a master of timing and not just in the ring.

I wouldn't call myself a fan of either but I like them both for different reasons, they have both entertained me over the years.

I'm British so I have no skin in the game or bias.

Anyway, It says to me Mayweather waited until Pacquiao was well on the slide, we all know that anyway, Mayweather got brave and found his cobblers after Pacquiao was knocked out so badly by Marquez he was out of action for a year.

Mayweather didn't want anything to do with the Pacquiao that blasted out Hatton, at that time Mayweather wasn't having any of it.

Call it what you like but Mayweather waited, waited, waited, waited, waited and waited until Pacquiao was pretty much done, damaged goods and then bored the world on his way to a decision.

Never said he was but Mayweather knew he was in a far better state than Pacquiao at that stage.

He waited and he waited and then Marquez absolutely blitzed Pacquiao and only then did Mayweather grow a pair.

It's diminished. if you want credit you don't wait until they get exposed first.

Alvarez almost pulled a Mayweather, but it seems his Mexican pride finally got him to sign.

Mayweather wasn't prime either but Floyd's style doesn't depend on speed as it was in earlier in his career. Pac depended on speed and conditioning. Take that out and you have an ordinary style to pick apart. Pac was never a defensive master technician like Floyd so he knew he wouldn't worry about that. Besides, at defense no one is better than Mayweather.

And the Horn win proves this without a doubt. Pac is done. Pac best years were 2008-2011. The time the fight had alot of meaning.

You'realso overlooking the other factors that held up the fight.

The Bradley fight while a robbery, put the fight back since there was no way you could make a mega fight with Manny coming of a loss.

Also, the Marquez KO put the fight back at least a year.

Then there were questions about drug testing.

Lets not act like there weren't other factors that caused the fight to be delayed.

Slippage in Pac-Tim1, gift in Pac-Marquez 3, then Pac KO6. Yet three more really big reasons why FMJ knew the time was right.

Yeah, and how about that drug testing. (IV:deal:)

Would mayweather could have comeback like pac did if for instance he was ever KTFO in 6 round?
Tbh my guess is he will go the Roy jones way after Tarver sparked him. Athletic fighter that relies on phsyc seldom comeback from setback like that.
Mayweather clearly beat a shadow of Pac. Pacman greatness is confirmed by many of his setback losses and how he bounce back.

Do you not agree tat the Marquez KO had to put the fight back at least a year?

Of course it did, however if Pac had of KO'd Marquez, which is where the match was heading before JMM flipped the script, the Pac-May match would have probably never happened.
