Wards second win over Kovalev is proof is skill-set is amongst the very Elite. Calzaghe was great to a certain level but his talent isn't comparable to Wards. I'd pick Kovalev to stop him and Ward would pitch a near shut out on the cards against him. At the end of the day Calzaghe got outboxed by a past prime Richie Woodhall in his last ever fight. And Robin Reed fought him to a close split decision which would have went to Reid if it wasn't for a bogus point deduction. Robin Reed got comprehensively out boxed by Silvio Branco in his very next fight. Branco before he fought Reed had just won by total robbery against Glen Johnson in Italy. Joe famously ducked Johnson 3 times. Froch battered both Reed and Johnson in one sided affairs. Ward dominated Froch. There's really no evidence to make a case for Calzaghe winning. He wasn't on the same level.
Calzaghe was a relentless workhorse as well as a elite skilled fighter, he would swarm Ward all night on his way to a comfortable points win. Plus Joe was no saint, when Ward started pulling out the elbows, headbutts & nutshots Calzaghe would waste no time giving him his receipt.
Joe would find a way to win like he always did, and maybe give Andre a hump or two while he was at it.
Ward proved what we all knew this entire time. He struggles against people that can ACTUALLY box and are not one dimensional plodders like Froch and Abraham. He relies on his referees and judges to give him that edge. Even with all these unfair advantages Joe Calzaghe trumps him. He lost the first Kovalev fight and was allowed to hit Kovalev in the pubic area in their second, reducing Kovalev's stamina in the process. How on Earth this proves that Ward is in the same levels as, Roy or Hopkins or Calzaghe is beyond me. Wishful thinking at best. But hey anything is possible when you punch a man in the pubic area, a woman can beat a man by punching them repeatedly in the groin area, let that sink in.
Joe wont be able to hump though since Andre Ward would castrate him with low blows. Joe would win but at the end he would become a Eunich
Assuming the officiating was fair. They favoritism Ward has been shown particularly in his last two fight would be hard to pick anyone who could beat him.
I figured Joe had already counteracted the low blows with chemical castration by snorting all the blow in Wales?
I think Joe would overwhelm him to the point of a riot if Ward was given the decision. It would be too obnoxious to give that turd the nod after Joe's done with him. Prime Calzaghe was a machine.
