True, but to be honest this is looking a lot better than it was at one point. Winner will have the best resume in the division as well as WBA Super, WBC diamond, IBO belts.

Erik Skoglund is a really handsome man. I've been checking some video on him, and he's not that great a boxer however. Just solid European style and level. Competent enough outboxer, but doesn't seem to be strong puncher or have much offensive variety, and worse his defence is average and his inside ability apparently really limited.

Skoglund is a nice guy but he isn't good enough to win the tournament. The only guy he has much of a chance against is Cox, and Braehmer because he's old.

Yeah, having to be in Monaco in two days should make a North American impossible. Unless he's already been decided behind the scenes and his travel expenses covered, that means even Korobov isn't getting in.

Think there's strong possibility that most of the fighters competing are level below top quality, except groves and smith, but could be a coming out party for one or two.

Yes, although I think all the fighters already know who's in. Yildirm hasn't been announced but he's on the plane, presumably Brant is on the plane too.

Rob Brant and Avni Yildirim are now officially confirmed. Still waiting for Eubank Jr/Abraham to be confirmed, otherwise it's complete.

Would really rather no Eubank Jr, the Eubanks will just act like divas further down the line and hold up the tournament.

It could be a problem, but if he signs I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Also, with Korobov itching to jump in, the Eubanks must know they have to behave.

    Seeds will probably be

    Groves #1
Eubank Jr #2 (he will beat Abraham)
    Smith #3

Take your pick for #4, I'm guessing Braehmer as a former champion.

    They pick from:

    Yildirim
    Brant
    Skoglund
    Cox

    So something like

    Groves-Skoglund (or Cox)
    Eubank Jr-Cox (or Skoglund)
    Smith-Brant
    Braehmer-Yildirim

    And likely semis:

    Groves-Yildirim
    Eubank Jr-Smith

It's going to be huge in the UK with Groves, Smith and Eubank Jr in. In fact, it will be bigger than the cruiser tournament here and if the winner is from the UK, a DeGale super bout looms afterwards.

It's Ramirez's + Dirrell's and Benavidez' fault for not signing up, anyway this tourney winner will have the best resume in the division.

I'm really looking forward to it. It's a perfect "appetizer" tourney for the Cruiserweight main course.

Ramirez is a good fighter, but Benavidez is the one I really wanted in it. I think this would've been his coming out party. Can't knock him for taking the Dirrell fight, but this would've done more for him in the long run IMO.

Groves v Eubank would be hilarious. Is Smith in too now then?
