I don't think Floyd will care to fight again after this fight. Most fighters I assume will fight on way too long, until they are losing to lesser fighters, but I have a feeling Floyd will stay retired after this. He loves his undefeated record and he's making a shitload of money.

You can't possibly have it better from a risk/reward perspective than to make 9 figures against a boxing novice. All those overmatched opponents we didn't care to see him face, like Bruseles, Guerrero, and Berto? Those guys were light years than McGregor when it comes to boxing.

Floyd was happily retired anyway, Hes only taking this fight because he will make more money than most fighters will make in their entire career in one night.

There is not a single boxer on this planet, and not a single person on this forum including OP that given the opportunity would not fight Connor for 250+ million, and everybody knows it so stop being a bunch of hypocrites and haters.

It was originally roy jones jr's idea to fight a UFC fighter in Anderson Silva in a boxing match, I guarantee if that fight had been made nobody would have complained and everybody would tune in, but because its floyd the same old haters come out again.

the way Floyd constructed his career by picking guys at the right time and weight, he could be undefeated. In Hearns or Leonard's era he could not have hung in there. Those guys fought tough guys all the time and prime guys. Floyd couldn't have handpicked or had weights because in those years you want to fight for the 147 pound title or 154, you fight at that weight when the guy is tough.

There is an element of truth to this of course. The Marquez fight was ruined with JMM. Hatton had to to 147 to get the fight. He waited till Pac was showing signs of wear and tear but making the fight. DLH at the end of Oscars career but in the end. He beat so many talented fighters though it's no fluke some of the fights might have been closer he's been a great fighter.

After seeing the likes of Haye and now Manny not perform after long lay off I am slightly worried that Connor McG might get lucky with his what is sure to be unusual style but Floyd would have to have fallen so so far...

he wont get lucky. Floyd constructed that also. His whole career. I don't respect his career much because of how he orchestrated every win. Manny losing now and before Floyd shows he really was not close to great when Floyd fought him. But Floyd beat the name.

Even if Floyd did cherry picked his fights ( not saying he did ) He was champion for like 20 years straight, You can't avoid your mandatorys by cherry picking for 20 years in a row, 20 years as champion undefeated at 49-0, The highest earning boxer in history, made 250+ million on two separate occasions, one of which at 40 years old. Not bad for a guy that can't even read.

Floyd has always said he fights for the money, He doesn't care about getting into war's and pleasing the crowd, in his own words, its not how you win its as long as you win, That's always been his goal and that's all hes ever done, You can say what you want he honestly doesn't care, he achieved everything he set out to and more.

Generally I agree with you. Floyd achieved everything there was for him to achieve and shouldn't be expected to maintain the same lofty standards and fight young bucks at 40. Some people hate him I am sure and would love to see a prime champion knock him out but Floyd really does himself no favours. I have seen him numerous times claim he would make easy work of Golovkin. Now whether you think he would or not, saying that and then taking a fight against a guy with zero professional boxing fights just looks stupid and annoying.

Floyd's been juiced to the gills for several fights during his career, do y'all think he'll do the same for the McGregor bout?

Guess what.. All of GGG fans know who Floyd is and at least watched some old fights and have the potential to watch the Conor fight just because he said that..lol And you guys act like he went to the media with that.. They asked him and he'd never say he'd lose to anyone...

Pac knows how to put his lead right foot outside an orthodox stance lead foot to give him great angles to land the straight left, McGregor never does this, he`s in for a worse boxing lesson than Pac, Conner has only knocked people out with small 4 ounce mitts, he`s mad!

There`s a vid of all the times McGregor was stunned, it was a lot compared to Floyd! In those clips he didn`t know what he was doing defensively, Floyd is the greatest defensive boxer of all time and it took him years to perfect the shoulder roll.

Floyd was only "in control" of his career for like 12 out of his 49 fights, Prior to that he was promoted by Top Rank who chose his opponents. People for get their was a time when a young hungry Mayweather was chasing and calling out DLH and Mosley and they weren't interested.
