Seems like a really dumb move on the surface. He turned down BJS in hopes of landing Cotto. Lemieux is barely a 160 fighter, there's no way Miguel wouldn't demand a catchweight under that, and I doubt Miguel is looking to face that kind of puncher in the cash out phase of his career in the first place.
Very simple and it made sense to me right away. BJS while owning a title, would likely beat Lemiuex. First, BJS can outbox Lemiuex. Secondly, the fight would take place in UK. Good chance of getting robbed if you ask me. Makes sense why he turned it down. Lemiuex can't afford another L.
Also remember BJS ain't some fluffer he beat Andy Lee more impressive than Quillen. Saunders ain't no joke, no shame in Le mule avoiding
lemule's team probably thinks there are other opportunities. David is pretty popular I can understand not wanting to take on the champ BJS in UK. It is kind of stupid though Le mule should want to become a 2 x world champ
Just read that his eyes are set on Cotto for the end of the year.. .. hopefully not.. Knowing Cotto he could bite on this..If he gets past Kamegai that is.. Which he should but you never know.. I think the size difference would be ridiculous...
Daniel Geale is supposed to be a huge MW and one of the better skilled ones. Cotto had absolutely zero problems f-ing him up.
Saunders would be favourite but when he started to blow out of his arse in the 9th round it would have been a very very dangerous fight for him
Lemule already got beaten up by GGG. He has no title he can fight whoever he wants. How many paydays you think he has left?
