He hopes to land Cotto. Both are under Golden Boy right now so it's possible, but I hope for him he's got some guarantee that the fight will happen.

I personally think Lemieux can beat BJS, so I hope this doesn't backfire on him. The WBO strap was also his golden ticket to the GGG vs Canelo winner.

Lemieux didn't turn down BJS for reasons that a few of you are saying.

This thread makes me sad. Boxing promoters and money men have won

You know it's a disaster when you see boxing fans from forums think there's no SHAME in ducking. People all of a sudden caring about finance more than boxing itself. They don't understand a champions mentality.

We should know better than to blame boxers for ducking and not their promoters. Promoters should just be vetting their fighters social media accounts better, so fighters don't make themselves look like duckers to impressionable fans, lol.

True that.. Would be a cool fight and I'm all up for it.. Lemiux is a total different fight though.. No doubt Cotto is the better fighter of course but remember Geale was softened up real good by GGG... I really did saw him as a dead man walking before the fight though and looked drained.. Lemiux is stronger too but Cotto is the better fighter.. Also wasn't the Geale fight at a catchweight though?

This is a matchup we should get and would make so much sense. Can't get more classic boxer vs puncher. I favour Saunders, but Lemieux has tighted up his game a bit, and his power advantage is big that he'd a very good chance of putting Saunders to sleep with one punch at any time.

This is perfectly understandable. If he beats BJS for the title then he has to face Golovkin again.

I can't believe people are actually defending Lemieux ducking a title fight

Can't see how anyone could pick Bily Joe ballshite to beat anyone after how he's looked against weak opposition in recent times.

Wise call. That is too much handsome in one ring. Every woman in the audience would start spontaneously squirting all over their seats. Public health hazard.

good fight too bad were missing out on it. but lemmy isnt the type to duck anyone. he fought ggg when nowone was willing. he fought stevens and the other dude and the time span betweeen them 2 fights wasnt much. maybe its best for him to relax a little longer till he gets back in there .

I think Saunders would have outboxed Lemieux.

Eye opening for some knuckleheads online. A trend I see is that the power puncher typically never gets accused of ducking. Not that anyone ducked here but people need to understand that no fighter fights anyone, any time.
