Only complaints are Glowacki getting omitted and Perez included.

 

Yeah I don't get that.... Glowacki is far more proven operator at CW. Perez is an unknown, since he hasn't done anything but crush a random Hungarian with a padded record at the weight.... Glowacki is a former belt holder who has only lost to Usyk who most consider the best in the division. Absolutely bizarre move.

 

They say he got in because he is promoted by that creepy, little freak Hearn. I added the creepy, little freak part.

 

I'm glad Perez got in. He deserves another shot at showing if he's got the goods down at a new weight class, especially after some of his tough breaks and the inactivity.

 

This is irresponsible and specious. Perez deserves this chance for falling apart at HW and only having one inconsequential perfunctory opponent at CW, especially over a former champ(Glowacki) who won his title by stopping the top guy at the time who was on the brink of breaking a record for title defenses at the weight.

Perez deserves nothing and only got in because of his promoter Hearn the U.K. Al Heymon. Not only does he not deserve this slot but he is going to drag either Usyk or Dorticos to the U.K. and have Hearn rig everything in his favor. This is starting to reek of Andre Ward level privilege in the super 6 all over again.

Usyk would be stupid to pick Perez and go get screwed by Hearn in the U.K.! He should pick Huck and let Dorticos go deal with facing a Hearn fighter in the U.K..

Great job boxing; You could not resist introducing corruption into this tournament before it even started.

I was hoping for Andrew Tabiti and Bellew to get invited. I would replace Wlodarczyk with Glowacki. Both series are more European oriented. That will not sell well in Americas.

 

Likely Hearn got Jamie Cox got into the SMW series, which is even more ludicrous.

Oh well though. I would've expected a lot worse honestly given the premise of a boxing tournament.

We still got some really great fights lined up from this, and if this is successful, they'll have more power in the future to pick better contestants.

We normally get just terrible fight after terrible fight. Now we get some mediocre fights, some huge unifications, and "the best fighting the best."

We shouldn't complain too much.

 

Yeahhh this is weird. I thought they meant "Mike Perez is in the tournament as an alternate for Glowacki" and thought it was weird that you had individual alternates per fighter. THAT made more sense to me than putting Perez in over Glowacki and that idea was absurd!

 

Well, Perez is better known amongst the casuals than Glowacky is.

Don't you think you are overeacting?

Most of the lineup was deserving of being called up, you are always going to have one or two wildcards who get in there because of their name or some other reason. I think Perez is an exciting addition and adds that surprise element to the tournament. He could either beast at CW or he could crash and burn, it adds excitement either way.
