Gervonta Davis vs Orlando Salido looks to be set

Coming to think about it, Loma's team deserve it for not doing anything about TR's constant lowballing of potential opponents and what at very least looks like Loma's short term financial greediness at the expense of his own career.

What the hell should they have done? Offer $1 million to a washed up Salcheato who made $50k for fighting Francisco Vargas and a couple thousand dollars in his last fight in Mexico? Yeah that would have been very smart for sure.

Because a victory over Lomachenko is way more impressive than Davis.

 

They offered the right money, but it was too little too late. In any case, they should've been willing to take less money IMO because Salido has been the bigger draw up until the most recent fight with Sosa and Salido is the one with the victory and made Loma look like a lost little boy. They started out offering Salido peanuts, Sosa accepted the fight for around $100k. Can you just imagine what they offered Jezreel Corrales?
Kovalev paid for opponents, Mayweather was getting less money than his opponents on the come up, but entitled team Loma are getting their karma for lowballing everybody.

Team Loma will get trashed in front of millions, and they did nothing to stop that.

Salido rejecting the $750k complaining about his pinky can also be seen as an indication that he just doesn't want it as he knows he gets his AB (ass beat) and wants to run into the sunset with a tainted victory over Loma.

 

They offered the market values for these fighters. Walters took $300k, Sosa took $100 while Salcheato refused to accept $720k which is much more than he actually deserves, much more. Therefore the Mexican priced himself out big time, it is a clear duck period. Nobody cares that he had fights of the year, or that he was robbed against Vargas and Martinez, he still doesn't bring money to the table, and that is all what counts, that's why he is fighting for peanuts lately. $50k is Salido's market value for a title fight currently as it was proven against Vargas, nothing more.

Team Loma will get trashed because Gervonta will beat the shot to **** Salido who mightly struggled against a noname bum in his last fight? You are joking right? Davis should get no credit for that win given how badly Salido looked in his last fight against a pushover.

 

That's a cop out to me. First they should offer the market value for the fighters, then, if Loma really cares about making history enough to fight the best in his own prime, he must pay the price for that literally. It's an investment into his own career as he, who can't sell out an arena of 5k, sure as hell hasn't economically proven himself worthy of $1m paychecks that someone like Adrien Broner gets.

Ducklando did duck Loma just now, I agree. I'm not blaming how things panned out entirely on Loma, he has partial blame. Salido has been far more well known than Lomachenko pre-Sosa.

Salido always struggles against bums, he's weird like that. He gets dropped by bums. I watched the fight and it surprisingly turned out to be a very good performance by Salido. Davis will get credit for the Salido who turns up on fight night - which at the top level, is usually the best version of Salido.
Otherwise let's just trash Loma's loss even further because Salido put on even worse performances before Loma-Salido.

 

Probably because Lomachenko has gone to be a 2 weight world champion and reign undefeated beating excellent fighters like GRJ, Walters and good fighters like Martinez, Sosa etc. He's done more in under 10 fights than fighters like Crawford have.

Whilst, Salido is 2-1-2 in his last 5 fights, I fact losing and drawing to a guy who Lomachenko brutalised in 5.
