Morales was winning most if not all fighters at that stage would box and just finish the fight.

Larry "But you really liked standing toe 2 toe with him in the last round even if you thought you won the fight"

Morales " did you like that?"

Larry " I loved it gracias gracias"

For me morales, marquez, bareera,Pac all had far more balls and heart then fighters like Mayweather when Mayweather

How come Floyd never shown such balls himself in the Pac fight? he didn't even try to engage him let alone go southpaw on him in the last round!

Remember watching this, spine-chilling. Ahead on the cards Morales switches southpaw and goes toe to toe despite being comfortably ahead on the cards.

    Great moment.

Why do people think taking punishment is cool?, Its not cool and its also unnecessary. Fighters get into war's because of their ego's, and such fights not only shorten careers dramatically but they can have lasting physical and mental effects that often don't show up until years later.

There are far too many fighters that have ended up being punch drunk, Floyd's own farther and uncle both have significant side effects, having seen the effects on his own family it should be no surprise that he would not want to take any unnecessary punishment.

Some fighters like Bhop and Shane Mosley have less significant but clear side effects as well and just because some fighters might not be showing obvious signs doesn't mean there isn't some form of impairment there either. This could also be a reason some fighters become shot at a relatively young age, just because their speech isn't slurred doesn't mean they don't have a level of impairment that isn't effecting their game.

Risking your health to please the fan's who care more about seeing a brutal knock out than they care about your own health is a fools game.

There is a reason why floyd at 40, is still both mentally and physically in fantastic shape.

Don't get me wrong i like to see two guy's go to war, but its not a smart its a mugs game and insinuating a fighter has no heart and no balls because he doesn't engage in such war's or take unnecessary risks to avoid ending up with the same debilitating side effects his own farther and uncle have ended up with is cowardly.

You're not lying. Everything said is fair and pretty accurate. But, whose to say Morales didn't do it for himself and not the fans? A show of machismo and cementing who's the better man by taking such a risk is straight up man's game. It's about superiority and testing one's limits. Lot's of competitors in various high level sports are wired this way....and it's admirable.

I fully understand where you are coming from also, This is the paradoxical nature of us humans. We feel the need to be macho and prove our selves but there is also a line and a balance A mature man doesn't need to prove him self in such a way if he doesn't have to, If you can box your opponents ear's off without being touched, there is nothing less macho about that, that's being smart.

Dillian whyte is a good example of taking it to the extreme, in his early days he had a tendency to quickly go into all out war mode and as a result his boxing skills were severely diminished while hes in that state of mind, That aspect of him will always be there, but smart mature fighter doesn't go there if he doesn't have too. Nowadays whyte has learn't to control him self and box and is a much better fighter as a result.

Floyds ability to put his ego aside and not engage and get drawn into war's takes an unbelievable amount of self discipline and control. Something i have never seen in another fighter. That is the sweet science at its finest.

Is this a homage thread for Morales, or is this a pathetic attempt to talk down about Mayweather ?

    Pathetic.

And this is exactly why you don't stand and trade with GGG because you need to prove how macho you are, You box his ear's off instead and take him to school, Easier said than done of course, but if anybody could do it i would would give a prime floyd mayweather a great chance.
