Even though salido came in a few lbs over weight and employed some dirty tactics, he wasn't using dirty tactics at every second of every round and regardless of the scores lomacheko did not show he was levels above, why not? it was a close fight throughout.

Are you telling me loma was unable to show he was levels above because of 3lbs?, or because of a few low blows? Salido absolutely had a weight advantage and hit loma low numerous times but those two things would not stop lomachenko showing he was levels above throughout the fight. Take a couple of points for low blows, loma wins, take away the low blows in the first place and it was still a close fight period.

There was many factors in the fight being alot closer than it was.

It was His 2nd fight as a pro against a grizzled veteran in Salido (who I'm a big fan of), who came in heavy and was allowed to repeatedly foul, plus it was his first 12 round fight which imo he paced badly.

If Lomachenko had gone on to struggle against opposition inferior to Salido then I'd be in full agreement that he's overhyped or not the fighter I think he is, but he's gone on to be a 2 weight world champion, hardly lost a round and beaten better fighters than Salido.

I'm confused how did this debate become so exaggerated and ridiculous. Canelo already had a pretty extensive career prior to stepping in the ring with Floyd albeit they were mostly Mexican cabbies. We all know how that grand business decision went so is it wise for Davis at this point to do the same?

Why is Davis a diva? When did this Loma Davis rivalry start? Was is while Loma was fighting in his 101st amateur bout and Davis was still in high school.

Listen I've been impressed with Davis but I wouldn't call myself a big fan just yet I'm just not sure how he's garnered all this hate and criticism already, he's doing just fine yet you guys are attempting to drag his name through the mud in order raise VLs credibility. Keep in mind these fighters don't make the ultimate decision when signing off on fights they have a management team that dictates their careers, I'm sure LOma/salido/Davis would fight each other tonight if need be these guys fight for a living so stop questioning their dignity and fighting spirit.

Very simple. He is a champion therefore he should fight the best. If he doesn't want to fight the best, then vacate the damn belt, stop holding that hostage, period. Every champion gets criticized if they don't want to fight the best opponents in their respective weight classes, Davis should be no exception, no matter his age.

 

I 100% agree with you too, i believe the current lomachenko is much better than he was then, and beat's salido in a rematch, I also believe Gevontate is not as good right now than he will be after a few more fights.

 

Yeah if Davis beats Salido and it's not a given, but if he does I'd like him to have 1 or 2 more fights and then Lomachenko. My only fear is Lomachenko has moved up by then but Davis could of too.
