Hold up. First off if you are going to play the "American" card on Dawson being rated p4p lets just walk away and you can ignore me and we shall not debate ever again. Just let me know.

Dawson was p4p rated and the man at 175 at that point. Do you want to tell me the weight drain was a factor? Sure Ill listen. Ill even give you that. Did James Prince influence it? Maybe. But Dawson agreed and seemed to think he would be ok.

Next. Yes Taylor was far removed from the same guy that was "tooling on Froch". We're talking about the IBF champ version that beat Soliman right? You do realize that Taylor had fought Froch 5.5 years earlier right? Not only that he had retired once and was really only back because he had no money. Not to mention that Taylor never fought again after Soliman and was checking into mental facilities.

JT had nothing to offer that point. And certainly no sane boxing fan would say that JT had more to offer than 168 Dawson. Maybe 2007 Taylor vs GGG would have been good. But Golovkin wasnt on the radar at that point. You cant seriously be telling me 2014 JT had as much to offer as the Dawson that fought Ward. Just no way.

I'm totally cool with not talking to someone who believes that's Dawson was rated p4p on merit so you don't have anything on me there I'm afraid.

The 175 version was a horribly overrated hypejob and the 168 version a total joke yet Ward fans act like that win is proof of Andre's greatness. Ward is great but not because he beat the drained version of one of the worst fighters to ever be considered a p4p talent by a sizeable number of people.

Nobody, especially me, claimed that proved Wards greatness. You brought that fight up when you were feeling insecure in the argument we were having.

168 Dawson that Ward fought is still better than 2014 Jermain Taylor. Which is what you are arguing. I dont think any sane person would make that argument. Even if Dawson proved to be overrated and drained. 2014 Taylor was out of retirement for money and never fought after beating Soliman because he was wacked out. You were actually arguing that 2014 Taylor was ducking Golovkin! Or did you forget that! LOL. SAD

It will be an outstanding win for whoever it is, but simply neither is as good or comparable p4p as Lomachenko, Rigondeaux, Ward, or Crawford (or Floyd if he's considered active). Yes if GGG wins he should probably only stay steady, because he beat a smaller guy. Part of what the term p4p suggests is being so good you can beat a bigger man. Canelo if he wins is in the discussion, but depends how he looks, and I have a hard time imagining him much higher than around the bottom of my top 10.

    Seriously WTF are you on?

I haven't become insecure about anything. I'm not that invested in anyone's career. I thought the topic had moved on to the validity of a few fighters importance and how different standards are applied to different fighters.

And I never said Taylor ducked Golovkin, just that it was a fight that couldn't happen due to reasons outside of Golovkin's control. You then lost your **** for some reason as if fighting the IBF champ would have be insane.

And lots of people spout off the above about Dawson but apparently I'm not allowed to mention it whilst you regularly talk about the ill conceived BS certain ggg fans say. GTFOH ShOck, you need to cut out the crap or find yourself being ignored by me again.

Put me on ignore. It will spare me from having to read crap about how 2014 Taylor is a better win than p4p rated Dawson. LOL. You are worthless. Just like many GGG fans. Because you cant concede or admit any fault in GGG or any of his opponents(actual and could have beens).

I could concede that Dawson would reveal in time himself to be overrated. And that maybe he was coerced into 168 when he probably shouldnt have. But you are out here talking about 2014 JT. When I simply asked for a list of fighters, that we would have wanted to see Golovkin fight, that ducked him. If you put 2014 JT anywhere near that list you are reaching. I would never in 100 years have wanted to see that fight. It would have been pointless.

You also tried to claim that version wasnt far removed from "tooling on Froch for most of the fight". Your most absurd claim yet. That fight was 5.5 years prior. And Taylor had retired and was known as mess both financially and mentallly.

Luckily I don't judge my own worth by whether or not some whacko on forum likes me.

Yet again you've tried to put words in my mouth and tried to make me out as some GGG fanboy because I don't hate the guy. I also respect Ward in many ways and appreciate his ability as boxer. I have never accused him of ducking Golovkin but whatever. Reply/don't reply I don't care.

Have a nice life shock, I 'd like to say it was nice talking to you again but that'd be a massive lie. Good night and good luck.

How could you accuse Ward of ducking Golovkin? Hes the only one of the two that actually tried to make the fight? Stop pretending like you respect Ward and just "dont hate GGG". You arent fooling anyone you mutt.

Spot belongs to Ward has way too good body of work (Sergey, Kessler, Abraham, Froch, Dawson Bika etc) over anyone on that list although a Canelo win def helps

It's a flaky concept. Horn just got a great win. Rungvisai too. Both arguably just got a greater win than Ward. Pac & Choc. They're not even mentioned in the top 10! So many variables & intangible's. It's personal, subjective & open to various criteria, none taking precedence over the other. Best way is just to average it all out and see who has most of an argument in all the variables. Most of Wards body of work happened years ago too. Don't forget that! Fury beat WK who was high p4p, I never saw him elevated to #1!

Two controversial wins over Kovalev thanks to his officials, Past prime Bika, Bloated up middleweight in Abraham, and A drained Dawson. Froch and Kessler are one dimensional plodders. Yeah pound per pound status :risas3:
