Who punches harder Yarde or Beterbiev? I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself, but I really hope they match Yarde vs Buatsi down the line as a crossroads fight sort of how Taylor vs Davies was tonight, and how Groves vs DeGale was before.
But Buglioni would be a step up from guys like tonight. You cant jump straight into top 20 guys after fighting guys like Birinyi. LHW is a stacked division and Yard has 12 fights and is still a young guy
Didn't even go a round? Another pointless dust up for Yarde. Someone's gonna take him past 6 rounds eventually and he will be shocked.
I think Buglioni is on the similar level as current shot Dawson to be honest. To me it doesn't matter if it's Buglioni -> top 20 guy -> top 10 guy or title shot, or top 20 guy -> top 10 guy or title shot, in fact the former might be wiser.
Beterbiev without a doubt. But Yarde is faster by quite a lot. LHW is truly stacked with talent, I mean: Ward - arguably p4p #1 at the moment, even if you hate him Kovalev - still top 10 p4p at most places Stevenson - he's fighting garbage but is a good fighter nevertheless Gvozdyk - top, top prospect Beterbiev - another elite contender Bivol - excellent prospect Alvarez - undefeated prospect Smith Jr - tough LHW with a great story, he's a good fighter Barrera - good contender Browne - another undefeated prospect Yarde - excellent prospect, look at how fast he is and how hard he hits Buatsi - Olympian and top prospect starting out Other names such as Pascal, Fonfara, Cleverly, Murat, Dawson, Chilemba, Gonzalez, etc. etc. are still decent tests for up-and-comers too. No other division has this much talent, except perhaps cruiser.
Yes, fully agreed, Jack moving up is interesting too. And Yarde vs Buatsi one day could be cracker!!!
I think Yarde, Beterviev's got that weird George foreman type power where he seems to generate huge power from very short shots, its deceiving and the way people go down suggest he might hit harder than it appears on screen so who knows.
I think Yarde is being matched in a Wilder type style, and I'll be surprised if he ever beats another fighter in the top five or ten of the division. Might be a controversial opinion but I don't think he does very many things in there besides hit hard and fast.
He hasn't developed, I've seen his last fight, he needs to go more rounds, he's never been past 4th FFS. How many useless 1 round fights do you want him to be in before you think he's ready? He's 25, big and athletic, I'm sure he can handle a shot Dawson and some C level guy like Karpency.
That's why you put him in with someone like Buglioni. A guy who has fought real fighters and who comes to win. Dawson was arguably beating Fonfara on points in his last fight before being stopped standing. That's a completely different stratosphere to the level Yarde has been fighting at. He has 12 fights with basically no amateur experience and you want to toss him in against top 20 level fighters' in one if the deepest divisions' in boxing?
I think everyone is getting a little too excited and ahead of themselves, Baranyi was KOd in 4 by Pablo Sosa (?????), I'm pretty sure he'd meet the same fate against Cleverly and Chad Dawson (even now), after all Chad stopped Cornelius White last year in 4. Yarde needs to face a few people I've actually heard of before getting in the ring with someone even on Buglioni's level, like a White, Parker, Sek, Brand or Zoulikha, I have no way to tell he's ready for the top guys without him actually KOing someone with a mild pulse.
