Prime Pipino Cuevas vs Manny Pac at welterweight.

Manny Pac has his southpaw style, but the bigger
Cuevas has the crushing left hook to counter the Pac-style.

    Who wins?

Pipino was a great fighter who was not a guy a smaller Pacman would or should fight. I think Pacman might win a decision, but if he is hit Cuevas would knock him out.

Ill take Pac by UD because of his speed and angles but like Pea said it only takes one from killer Cuavas

Pac should out work him, hustle him. It should be a solid point s win for pac man.. But pipino was blasting them out between 76 to 80, so if pacquiao leaves him self wide then Jose could nail him. It could be a killer hook that puts him out. Interesting match up.

Did Pacquiao fight any power punchers above junior lightweight? Who were Cuevas' fastest opponents?

Cuevas looked completely helpless against Hearns. I don't imagine Hearns dominating Packman in that easy fashion. In fact, I imagine Hearns getting gradually chopped down in the same way that Margarito was. Based on that alone I would say Packman by either KO or on points.

Pipino was vastly underrated because of his loss to Hearns. However by this stage
Pipino was burnt out as he had turned pro at 14 and being WW champion for 4 yrs
and made 11 Title defenses. Prime Pipino was a mean machine with a wrecking ball
    left hook.
Manny best weight was 135 - 140 and at WW he never faced a puncher ko artist and
Pipino punched much harder than blown up LW Marquez. I will go against the norm
and Pipino who had a iron chin will stalk Manny and after taking heavy punishment
he nails Manny with his big left hooks and ko Manny in 8.
Once again thank you fellow member haNZgod for highlights.

Prime Pipino? he knocks out Manny. Cuevas was devestating and Manny wasn't big enough or punched hard enough to keep him off at 147 and Manny really comes forward most of the time

Hearns was an all time great who outboxed Benitez, out punched Duran and Cueves, and outboxed Hill later. Has more wins against top guys than Pacman in many ways and more devastating wins and conclusive. Hearns would knockout Manny in a couple of rounds. Manny would not want Hearns. As for Cuevas? Manny is faster and would have to use that speed to beat Cuevas to the punch and keep him off balance, and he could do it. But if he stopped and got hit by Cuevas, Manny is knocked out worse than how he was with JMM.

I think Pipino was a better boxer early in his reign and later started throwing home run bombs that cost him against the better fighters. Geez he'd have killed Roger Stafford just a few years earlier

I see Pac shooting straight punches in between Cuevas wide punches. The foot and hand speed beats Cuevas power and slower hands. Cuevas is stopped later rounds
