No he never, Ohara did by unexpectedly turning his back and stop defending himself, if he wanted out should have took a knee like earlier in fight or better still went out on his shield

Don't you think Foster should have positioned himself right next to the boxers after the knockdown?

Obviously a good ref should never have to get physical with the boxers, he ought to have been poised to intervene...like he was in froch-groves.... and HF only had to do it last night cos he was caught badly out of position....and of course also cos taylor wasn't obeying verbal commands.

I'd give him the first shot, although admittedly it was clear Davies had quit long before he landed it, but its hard/impossible to argue he wasn't out of order still throwing when ref in between them. That said great performance and didn't cross my mind he would get dq I did think it was unneeded

you need to watch something else instead of boxing...OD after the fight said he respects Taylor as a boxer but hes not my type.....I thought it was just business ??? He isn't as good as he thinks he is and I think he needed a few extra just to let him understand...His interview with the Scottish dude (ifl) after proved what a nob he is...He went down in every department last night

    Let me help you.
Reffing a fight is a bit like flying a plane. Mostly you're in cruise control...anyone could take the controls and be fine..very little can or does go wrong when you're cruising at altitude. Vast majority of crashes happen during landing...at he END of the flight. That's when u need a good pilot. The last 1%.

It's a bit like that with boxing...the test of a ref is often how he handles the END of the fight....the stoppage...the last 1 percent.

Getting caught out of position and having to compensate for it by engaging in physical manhandling if a boxer is a sign of poor reffing...referee error. (Of course he wasn't helped by Taylor's thuggish behaviour.)

Fwiw I never said he SHOULD be DQ.

(I'm just saying his behaviour at the end was somewhat unpleasant.)

As for the DQ I was simply saying that it COULD have happened with a picky ref, due to Taylor's serious breaches of the rules.

It wAs a fantastic performance by JT. He boxed superbly.

Don't think it was a big deal at all to be honest, looked fine from where I was. Although I haven't watched it back on TV yet (was at the fight) so I can't properly comment at this stage

Not a big deal. Its a fight. Its up to the ref to jump in. He did. End of story. Was actually worried for od after it initially looked in a bit of distress. Just before that last shot done some sort of wierd blinking thing reminded me a bit of what mcllellan was doing against benn. Always gets me worried. Was a really enjoyable fight friday. Both good. Od can come again. Taylor looks good. Still think it wasnt quite as one sided as people have made out. Od was in that fight. Think his game plan was the main problem. Great win for taylor though...looked good.

OD quiting like that was shameful, I don't mind fighters talking trash before a fight but you have to back it up & not just quit when the going gets tough like OD did on saturday. I got no problem with what Taylor did, after watching the start of OD's interview on IFL after the fight I'm kind of glad he got served up the way he did, those few paydays he's already had have clearly gone to his head.
