I voted "Above average power that needs to build on for later effect"

Seems that this is the general consensus too.

I don't think he has great power, probably like a 6. It took him 10 rounds beating on a human punching bag in Angulo to stop him (and he didn't even clean KO him), he couldn't stop or hurt Cotto (who even featherfisted Mayweather hurt) and it took nine rounds to stop a domestic level fighter in Liam Smith. Canelo couldn't even stop a dead man walking in Chavez Jr.

Yes, he knocked out Khan but c'mon, Khan has been stopped or hurt by much smaller men than Canelo. Canelo was supposed to knockout Khan (and he did). Kirkland is chinny as well, Ishida stopped him in one round.

I don't see Canelo beating GGG because I think he needs to outbox him to win and that isn't going to happen, especially when the inevitable mid-fight fade happens for Canelo when he loses his stamina.

    Ishida fought Golovkin.

That was the definition of a highlight reel KO.

Can someone list some of Nelo's wins that ended on a body shot?

Despite having some nice highlight reel KOs, he's not a big puncher. He has decent power who throws combinations well, mixing it from head to body.

I thought at first after knocking out the tough Baldomir with a great left hook that he may be a puncher, but his fights afterwards have shown me he has okay power. The Mosley fight is what made he question his power. Mosley didn't seem to respect his power much at all, and didn't go into a shell and worry about the incoming. Fighters have generally had Shane leery when they were able to hit Shane with consistency. He often went into a defensive shell, or held a lot more.

He did none of that versus Alvarez even though he was getting hit with seemingly everything in the book. Plus he was in his 40s by then.

He's got to get GGG's respect, and perhaps use to do some clinching to disrupt GGG's rhythm and offense. He doesn't have the footspeed to simply outbox Canelo and keep the fight the way he wants it

I selected above average power for 154, however that
has **** to do with 160, his power is nowhere near even
proven at that weight and he's saying he's gonna KO
a guy with a stone chin that has never been down?

    Laughable.

Canelo's not a big puncher by any means, he can get
people's respect because he throws combinations but
he can't spark anyone that hasn't already been sparked.

Canelo won't crack Triple G's chin but anyone can be KO'd with a liver shot.

I think the real question is does Canelo have enough power to keep Golovkin honest for large portions of the fight ??

I think Danny Jacobs set the blueprint for how to fight Triple G.

Basically Canelo needs a minimum of great footwork, very good power at 160, good chin, very good stamina, great ring IQ, a set of cojones bigger than mount Everest to sit and trade with GGG if needed and he should never ever lay on the ropes in this fight.

Its definitely not an easy task and I dont think Canelo checks all those boxes

Canelo is not, has never been, and never will be a power puncher. Despite Oscar trying to trick people into thinking such by putting Canelo in there with Glass Jawed Frauds like Kirkland and Khan.

Not a one punch ko artist, but because he's a natural counterpuncher, and explosive and add heavy handed to that, he can be pretty deadly if he catches you with a punch you are not prepared for and likes to land combinations. He doesn't try to take you out with one punch, but don't be surprised if he does. He's a "machacador" which means he tries to wear you down, he admitted to this in the past.
