What am I arguing about regarding the WBO, again you've changed at every other turn. So what about it?
I was tempted to post just this to show how ridiculous you are - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliability_of_Wikipedia IN actual fact it has as high a source of accuracy as the EB for regulated pages. but sense of humour aside, why have you ignored the credible links to boxing associations that the page gave you? Tell me why you've ignored them, and instead shouted something completely different.
Again you've changed the question several times throughout, I'll ask you again what about the WBO am I meant to be defending?
Entirely wrong. I telling you the same thing I was when I started - the WBO was unrecognised at a certain time. You were arguing against that until just after you were given evidence.
thisa poll has more to do with how many brits are on the forum, plus bailey has at least 4 different accounts... considering Calzaghe's best win against a prime fighter was Kessler, it's really a no-contest.
No. Ward was outboxed by a slow, flat footed, 1-2 puncher, who never throws to the body and barely has a hook. This is no "master" of anything boxer. He's big, physical, hit's like a mule and maintains distance with a 1-2. Calzaghe never fought square and ate shots coming in. He was far quicker, skilled and well rounded than any opponent Ward ever fought.
from 2004 yes. This is the answer you were given 2 pages ago. Now you are being a good boy, its time for you to give up now, because you have just wasted 2 pages of my life and other peoples trying to dodge the answer you were given. Lets get back on topic. Respect for joe, that adds up to about 7 universally recognised smw defences, one more than Andre Ward, and only just behind or on par with carl froch, although froch has more unified defences. Although in migitation, joe had roughly another 13 defences that were recognised solely by the wbo, including at least 1 decent opponent in there (the "draw" with robin reid, that guy that froch destroyed with ease inside 5). More good news is Joe has more universally reognised defences than Andre, although Wards defences were largely unified ones, joe had just the one unified (non-wbo) one. Andres were better quality too wirthout a doubt.
No one else cares or had been following what you have been saying, this is repeated in the "quality" of said posts. Finally just because the other "world" title organisations didn't start adding fighters from the WBO until 2004 doesn't devalue the champions of WBO yesteryear, Infact Calzaghe being an ATG and concensus number 1 only validated the WBO as an organisation along with other pre 2004 champions such as Mercer, Bowe, Morrison, Michalczweski, Eubank, Mcclellan and Winky Wright to name a few. Every "world title" started of in such states, but in Europe the WBO has always had a good following.
hi. you appear to be flogging an issue that was resolved 2 pages ago. AGAIN. I give u a free pass this time because you admitted u r a young boy with no 1st hand experience of the wbo's actual gradual growth. but dont push it.
but thank you for confirming that the wbo belt was eurolevel back then and that every world title started off like the WBO DEFINITELY DID START OFF at a less recognised level. good boy.
I understand that you want to write Kovalev off as some bum rather than give Ward any credit but it doesn't work like that. People on this board spoke about his potential ATG ranking because they knew talent when they saw it. Some people saw him as a more refined boxer than Golovkin and Ward was not only predicted to lose viciously , he was also not expected to ever enter into the ring against him. Kovalev was and still is one of the top P4P level boxers in the sport. One of his signature shots was range controlling right hand to the body - a punch that dropped Blake Caparello onto his hands and knees in agony. He also dictated the distance with his feet very well , moving swiftly in n out , something that a 'slow flat footer' would not be capable of. Cornelius White was dropped and stopped from combinations of left hooks and right hands. Kovalev was a well schooled boxer with a decent amateur background of over 200 fights. There isn't anybody Joe fought that would be the favourite against him. Calzaghe often fought square on , the film clearly shows us this , its why he was tagged with right hands so frequently.
As did every major title. And I didn't confirm anything that you said just because it wasn't seen as a big 3 by America doesn't mean you are correct, boxing isn't America.
So I'm correct again and you admit you are wrong....again. Show me evidence of Calzaghe's title defences only being classed as genuine world title fights after 2004 and I'll admit I was wrong or just go away....its up to you.
