He didn't get KNOCKED OUT until his corner wouldn't let a 38 year old man come out for the 11 round against an all time great fighter in his prime.
His corner should have pulled him out of that fight a lot sooner than that. Even the ref should have stepped in long before that and stopped it.
As good as Mike Tyson was I don't think he would be a prime Muhammad Ali. Ali would just play mind games with Tyson. Before the match he would mess about with Tyson in the press conferences then when it comes to the match Tyson would get angry and try taking of Ali's head. But Ali would be too quick for him.
Not really. Foreman and Tyson were both hard hitters so they were similar boxers. Ali would beat Tyson just like he beat Foreman.
Oh, I meant they're both power punches and sluggers. It would be fun seeing the press conference between Tyson and Ali though.
They have dissimilar styles. Tyson's style was more Floyd Patterson. Biggs was especially disrespectful of Tyson and that didn't turn out well for him. He also fought a lot like a young Ali.
And? Joe Frazier got KO'd in 3 of his 4 losses. Must mean he blew, huh. Douglas caught Tyson slipping. So did Holyfield. By the time he fought Lewis, Tyson was a front running 3 round fighter who blew cold. The Lennox fight was for cash money debt clearance. Tore his knee against Williams. And quit against McBride. I would rate the Douglas and Holyfield knockouts and dock it against Mike. Anything else is academic.
Put it this way Sandra, Frazier was in a much worse condition against Foreman than Tinkerbell could ever dream of being for the Douglas fight......
Oh please!! Tyson was slipping against Buster at the age of 24!!! Holyfield was 34 and had taken some beatings against Bowe. Frazier lost to two all time greats, you know the titans that Knocked out Tyson.Reset your excuse meter for maximum and try again
Here we go! Tyson haters always talking about excuses, yet you have them for your favorite fighters as well. What does age have to do with it when you're not preparing properly and not doing the things that got you to the top? Who cares about age, it's what you do in the gym leading up to the fight. It's no excuse that Tyson cut corners as early as 23. Anyone who disses that logic is a shallow, narrow minded elementary level thinker and shouldn't be allowed to debate on these forums.
Tyson looked obese in the ring in Tokyo, I've never seen a fighter look so fat and underprepared....... oh wait.
