Agree comes across totally j comfortable in front of the cameras, unusual for a promoter ! He is a great spotter of talent and matchmaker would be better in those roles or as a manager than as a promoter
This fight will be going ahead. It might not sell great but I think all parties are willing and accepting to take a loss on this and think of it as more of an investment for a huge big money fight with Joshua.
Yeah exactly, lots of people will criticize hearn as a promoter but you only have to watch the 2 host press conferences, the press conference yesterday was for the world heavyweight title in Fury's home town and mick couldn't even raise his voice or get excited or smile or anything and people will wonder why the arena will be half empty, yet when hearn was hosting the aj wlad presser he gave like a big speech at the start which was engaging. Hearn has more charisma at the nextgen pressers than mick had yesterday for a world title. Frank Warren isn't much better either, reading of a script and quite boring etc and don't get me started on francis warren.
Totally agree Hearn is more engaging than them all, talks a fight up big style and as much as he's a great salesman you can see he is in love with boxing nearly as much as a pound note ! The others you mention look depressed in the boxing business, full of scripts and bitterness.
yeah, like him or not hearn has bought a lot of interest back to boxing and helped it to where it's at now, even his social media for example he's always tweeting fans and answering questions whereas frank warren doesn't run his own twitter.
Agree for all his haters in the hardcore boxing community people have to realise British Boxing is in its strongest place ever and the single biggest reason for that is Eddie Hearn.
I hope this fight takes place. Excuse me for being a "hardcore" boxing fan but this is an interesting 50-50 fight between two young heavyweights who are on the upward. It represents a career progression and a test for both men. I'm not necessarily expecting an exciting fight but it's the kind of fight that keeps the division moving along. Y'know, it's better than Wilder-Stiverne 2 or anything featuring Bellew and Haye.
i am also looking forward to it to see how good either of them are, still unsure on parker and fury hasnt impressed me yet
He's as deserving has anyone else really. Had 20 fights, won them all. You're bound to eventually work yourself into a mandatory position doing that, and whilst not the most explosive fighter he's certainly very skilled for a big lad. He will win this fight on points.
This is what frustrates me about the Fury's when the viewing figure and attendance are lack lustre they will come out with people dont like us because we are real and honest or because we are gypsy etc etc the world is against us... No because your team is ****! Mick Hennessy just comes across like he would rather be anywhere but sat there... he doesnt instill any confidence. just uninspiring... and some of the stuff he came out with was bitter. As for FW It amazes me they haven't picked up on the smaller details that make the difference... he is an old school promoter been around for ages fine... but you dont need to be a marketing genius to see... he comes across as old and tired... his shows have an outdated feel (getting slightly better now with BT) ... but you watch and an eddie hearn IFL interview its in a bright sunny room, everything seems fresh, hes engaging, atleast appears honest... contrast that to FW his offices looks like its a broom cupboard... blinds closed, room looks like its a throw back to the 80's eveything again looks dating and out of fashion. The press conferences are smaller and feel less polished. Not saying Eddie Hearn is perfect but the other promoters make it easy for him. End of Rant!
oh im not saying hes some bum, im just wondering how beating Fred Kassi on a technical decision gets you a world title shot. mind you, it is the WBO. im not so sure he wins it though, need to go back and watch a couple Hughie fights to decide properly though
