More free to air boxing and away from Matchroom can only be a good thing!

Is this Dave channel any big in UK? I hope we will get some channel in Bulgaria showing it as well. We have a channel which show all Matchrooms galas for free.

its a free to air comedy channel not known for sport, but both of david haye's comeback fights were on there and they both got really good viewing figures, like at least 1 million people or something and david haye's a big name so i'm sure a lot of people will tune in.

For David is clear, but do you think people will watch their galas if David is not boxing? I guess JJ is pretty big name there as well, as he is Olympian, so his maybe will be interesting, especially when free.

Joyce isnt a big name here, and i dont think hes particularly rated either. seems very aggressive with a come forward style but from what ive seen, thats about it

(admittedly haven't seen him as much as other amateurs though)

Dave isn't the biggest platform but it is free to air and Haye's return fight scored the 2nd highest rating ever for that channel, I think it had a couple of million people tuning in for it, which quite frankly is good for boxing, not every fight can be a huge cross over event.

It will be a decent platform to start of their careers on. It's a real shame Joyce was robbed of the gold medal in Rio, he'd be debuting on Sky with a big name promoter had he not gotten robbed.

Not sure how his career will go, he's a bit of a late bloomer, looked far better in Rio that I had seen before, mainly do to improved footwork and work rate. But he has an exciting style, should be fun to watch him progress.

It's strange that he isn't highly rated considering an Olympic silver medal is an incredible achievement. That's all I've seen of him so I can only base my opinion on that but he looked pretty good and should have the gold.

it is quite strange, look at all the hype even Price got when he won bronze, but you dont really see much about Joyce

The previous rumors were that he will sign Hearn. He was even sparing numerous times with AJ. Maybe Hear decided he has too many HW in the face of Aj and DW and especially AJ will bring him ton of money in the future, JJ is already kind of old, no time to " milk" him.

I'm following boxing since 2 years so i don't know but i guess back then UK did not have so many world champions in boxing and some many stars this is why Price ws hyped that much. Maybe if JJ got the Gold, hewould not be even than hyped that much as Aj did it before him and it is already worlwide star.

These days with all of that sky exposure, the fact that he didn't sign with Hearn pretty much means Hearn didn't want him. I don't know why he'd join Hayemaker out of all of the other UK promoters which are at least somewhere in the scene. As others have said, Joyce is old but looks to be an exciting fighter in the ring all the best to him.

But Hearn hit the bloody jackpot with Buatsi.
