He got lucky twice then.

 

Comfortably beating Naz, 2-1 against Morales and a razor close fight with Marquez (a toss-up imo) when Barrera was past his best. The Jones and Pac losses non-withstanding, I'd have to say that's h2h elite.

 

Yeah, have to say he's getting a lot of mileage out of beating only 3 top fighters of the time.

Same as above, just that he didn't beat any top fighters (as in top 5 at the time). Ok, he looked good against Byrd before he had to pull out, but how far can you go on that? And, yes, he was ahead against Lewis before the cut stopped him, but that was one of poorest version of Lewis. Rahman and McCall beat arguably better versions, and Bruno and Mercer did about as well against arguably better versions.

The fact is that an old and overweight Lewis who hadn't been in the ring for a year was there to be taken that night, and Vitaly couldn't do it even at his peak.

 

I think Rigondeaux and Lomachenko would outclass him. Pac did.

Fennick.Great to watch and a good fighter but I didn't by into the great fighter thing .knew Nelson would beat him bad second time around and won a few quid.Nelson was a different class of fighter.

 

Spot on. Looking at what Liston did up to his championship bouts you can argue he cleaned out the division with the exception of Ingo missing on his resume.

Wish we could've gotten a conclusive and untainted result in the Ali rematch.

 

Ali was the greatest hwt who ever lived. Fastest fighter ever, great boxer with the chin heart and will to win matched by few. At his best no fighter beats him.

 

Yeah, it's only that Frazier, Norton and Young beat him.
