    Squats 5×5 ramping up the weight to 1rm
    Hack squats 5×10
    Bulgarian squats 4×12- 20 reps
    Stiff legged dl 4 × 12
    Leg extension 4×20 -12
    Leg curls 4×20-1×

    3 times a week, oh and warm up with a 6 mile run.

    Front squats are the way to go for me. I did squats for a few months. Made good strength gains but for some reason my strength just dropped randomly. No idea why. I didn't like doing them anyway, felt like they worked the back more than legs, it wasn't a technique problem though. I filmed myself until I got it right. I did front squats before and after, worked my legs directly and feels a lot better. Power Cleans and Cleans are nice too.

    How high is the bar sitting for your front squats? If it doesn't feel pretty uncomfortable on your throat you don't have the bar high enough. Usually the issue when people feel it in their back more as the weight shifts forward.

    It was squats that felt like they were stressing my back more than my legs.
