I said Ward had an edge in holding but felt Calzaghe would be landing whilst Ward was doing that.
Yes Ward can hold and hit, but you should know that, holding and hitting is not allowed and have to assume that there would be a ref that would not allow low blows or holding and hitting, thus Calzaghe has all the advantages I noted, which is why after seeing Ward being hit at will and outlanded by a slower Kovalev, that I pick Calzaghe by clear win

Definitely Calzaghe. Calzaghe has taken far more risks in his career

Do you class a low blow as a definitive KO? Seems very biased

Using a free hand to work in the clinch is legal and thats what Ward does. Spence did the same to Brook all night long and wasn't warned once because its legal boxing.
I believe Joe would be a loss to Wards inside work like Brook was with Spence.

I believe this to be true:rambo1:

They used to call Cleverly 'Calzaghe 2.0' Look what Krusher done to him. It was brutal.

Intentionally holding and hitting is not allowed. being tangled up and using a free hand is something completely different, and why would someone assume people would get constantly tangled unless one wants to hold? They wouldnt. Why do you think the ref broke Hatton and Mayweather whenever they were in a clinch? Holding and hitting

"Definetly far more"? What are you smoking? Ward just fought by far the most dangerous opponent out there for him twice after having proven himself to be the head and shoulders above his previous division. Even to say something like that about Ali, Duran or Whittaker would be exaggeration, let alone a guy like Calzaghe who was content with defending a domestic belt for like a decade.

What you on about? When has Ward been the away fighter in a big fight? Other than Kovalev what top prime fighters did Ward beat? Dont say past prime Froch and Kessler.
Ward did take on Kovalev which I give credit for, but I read from another poster (so not sure what the truth is), that Ward didnt want neutral officials.
What was Kovalevs best win that made him more dangerous than say when old Calzaghe beat prime undefeated Kessler?
Calzaghe defended a belt to get other opportunities which he did eventually and even defended and won titles on the road. Tell me when Ward did that?
