Wow, Murat Gassiev has a mouthful to say and sounds honest!

The thing to remember is that even though Wilder's team has been protecting him, Wilder himself doesn't buy into it. A confident fighter with that kind of size and one punch power is dangerous against anyone.

That said, his team blatantly avoided Wlad, so while I respect Gassiev's opinion here and rate Wilder as a genuine heavyweight threat, the opportunity was there for that fight, and Wilder's team balked. Wlad wanted that last remaining belt, and made no secret of it.

Wlad and Wilder have never negotiated a fight against each other at all.

It never got that far because Wlad knocked him out in sparring twice and he had the good sense to stay away until Wlad got older. He's said explicitly in interviews that he's the younger guy and the longer the wait, the bigger advantage it is for him ( Wlad was already 39 at that point).

I'm happy to go to bat for Wilder where it's merited, but there's no two ways around that Wilder-Klitschko could've been made. Wilder wanted to wait.

Yes that's true, Wilder was too scared whereas Wlad was aware AJ was more dangerous and thus choose to fight the best.

Don't get mad at that reality Blizzy, own it.

Fuk this forum must be getting to Blizzy if he has to dredge **** **** up to try and get a rise out of the realists on Wilder..

I remember Molina was sparring Wilder and Wilder was saying that Molina was going to do the business on AJ. That worked out well didn't....
