    Most of the punchers in the matchups mentioned had way more skill to deliver that punch than Smith does. And when a limited puncher has landed that miracle punch it only happened when his opponent made a mistake and left himself open. A puncher's chance means bet on the other guy.

    A punchers chance as in someone who acually trains boxing there's a long list of upsets.
    However for someone coming this green into the boxing game there's no comparison.

    I thought the OP was refering to pre fight not during because every fighter who is way behind on points only has punchers chance.

    That was my thinking. A heavy hitter that is a massive underdog going into the fight.

    I'm pretty ready to call it "puncher's chance" any time someone gets a KO, or a big KD, while far behind on the cards.
