has had so many fights he probably only has 2-3 years left then its all downhill . I used to be a big fan of him but hes cherrypicked fights after Mayweather and then lara. and avoided all the big studs at 154 lol.
when all is said and done, even if his team made many questionable decisions on their way to this point, they did put him in a great position as he enters his prime.
If he retired today, based on accomplishment, I don't actually think he makes HOF. He will make it on the basis of being a star, whilst being a good fighter. Lara and past prime Cotto fights could've genuinely gone the other way. Chavez at 164 is a bit of a comedy. I'm really not trying to diminish his accomplishments at all, but it's only fair to see the full picture. A win against Golovkin can change a lot.
He is only 27 years old just hitting his prime. Sometimes I think he was forced into the limelight too early. He was only 24 when he fought Lara. Most guys are not getting big fights that early.
Well, 27 may seem relatively young but people tend to forget that he turned pro at 15 so that's 12 years he's been fighting. Could be that he's already at or been at the peak level that he's going to ever get to.
