Maybe, maybe not. Lennox Lewis and Wlad Klitschko were intimidating, also Vitali . I know Tyson has a huge cult following and all the mythology of him and all that stuff, but being stared down by those giants at their bests certainly broke a good many lesser fighters.
Yeah those guys were intimidating too. Regardless, you have to admit I have a point. Tyson is a national icon of fear and brutality. And he was 5'10 in the era of the SHW spring.
Look at Mcneeleys face just after the stare down when he turns around. It looks like hes about to cry.
I don't ever remember anyone pulling Tysons pants down at the staredown or slap him straight in the face, or spit water at him or start wrestling with him at a press conference.
not sure, Lewis has very ga.y kind of face,not very scary. And staring down Wlad in the knowledge he'd been easily killed by serial journeymen must have been a special kind of petrifying. Vitali perhaps had something, until he lost to a LHW.
Well, he didn't cry. He came out fighting and didn't give up. I think maybe McNeeley was mentally touched, hence those facial expressions he had. Mike Tyson is the one there who we've all seen cry at times.

Actually Tyson was pretty well behaved at all of his press conferences, the only exception being the Lewis one which Lewis himself instigated. Point being, no one dared to slap Tyson or pull his pants down at any press conference ala Vitali.
Yes. And that later meltdown version of Tyson ('Mad Mike') possibly inspired the likes of Chisora and all the other idiots we see today. But all this is besides the point .... But that's just deranged behaviour. It shouldn't be seen as a normal behaviour. It's not a sign of being non-intimidated any more than it's a sign of being intimidated. I mean, you can interpret it any way you please, but it's just mentally deranged and stupid. When Mike Tyson was polite and respectful to his opponents in press conferences, that doesn't mean he was intimidated either. It's just normal decent behaviour.
