    * That counter jab to the head that Canelo supposedly lands actually comes up a little short on the fan-cam footage. If it did make any sort of contact, any pop it might have had had been completely nullified by Floyd's movement.

    * The vast majority of Canelo's body punches that you cite actually catch Mayweather's arms or glove. I still think the cleanest body shot that lands in that frame is the right hook that Floyd landed to Canelo at the end of the round.

    * The left hook that ended Floyd's inside one two definitely makes contact with the head in the replay that follows round 2 on the telecast.

    * Floyd doesn't often feint with the shoulders, but one way that he does feint is by bending his knees as if to fire downstairs. The fan cam angle really illustrated that. There were points when he would bend and dip and Canelo would pause as a result.

No way Floyd grants a prime Canelo a rematch if he beats GGG... I dont blame Floyd though. He doesnt need to take such risk.

I checked it, you can clearly see it hit his chin and Floyd head snaps back and reacts as he falls back towards the ropes. Floyd did take some off of it by moving away from the punch, but it still landed with some force on the chin. It was an impressive counter punch, and one of the better punches of the round in my opinion.

Which body shot are you talking about? I don't see any right hook that Floyd landed on Canelo at the end of the round. Floyd whiffed on a right hook in the final 10 seconds before Floyd threw that straight right that Canelo appeard to narrowly avoid. I'd like to know where you're seeing a right hook body shot land on Canelo.

It grazed his forehead, the punch mostly missed. It didn't connect clean with Canelo's head as you were suggesting. That forehead grazing inside left hook from Floyd can't be compared to the two clean flush left hooks that Canelo landed from distance in this round. Technically it did land, but it wasn't close to as significant or quality as Canelo's two clean left hooks in that round were. And the short straight counter right that proceeded that wasn't a significant punch or better than Canelo's left hook that preceeded it.

The fan cam is very useful. Unfortunately some segments are missing, like the end of Round 2 which would have helped us judge the final exchange before the bell.

Something we agree on..besides a huge money grab, the fight would most likely be at yet another BS CW and would mean nothing. Well..I correct myself, it would mean more to Floyd's legacy if he won then it would Canelos

What happened to this thread? We were making some progress here going through the 2nd round, taking a closer look at the key moments of the round, when I responded to the following comment, to which there has been no response.

Drew101, you made a statement that Floyd landed a body shot right hook at the end of the 2nd round, which you said was the cleanest body shot of the round. When did this punch occur, I watched this round mutliple times and I have not seen any such clean right hook to the body at the end of the round by Floyd. I am discussing the punches that actually happened, and examining any punches that are said to have landed.

So what are talking about with this right hook body shot landed by Floyd? This is one of the reasons why I haven't just posted my entire scorecord. In a fight this difficult to score, we need to examine each round by itself and can only move on to the next round once we have reached a consensus of what happened in the early rounds.

It's impossible to win a decision over Void no matter what. However, El Pollo just followed Void around the ring, did not cut the ring off................

Very often does just enough to win them with plenty of controversy as well.

Engage the emotions via insults or other annoying behavior and you have an audience wanting to see vengeance via Karma. In contrast, Canelo and Triple G are two relatively silent athletes who don't appear to dislike each other. So their issue s who is the best boxer. That reduces the drama for certain types of viewers considerably.

lol it's as one sided a fight as you're ever gonna see without a knock down, listen to Canelo interview after cause sure as hell he never thought it was close as he said he couldn't find Floyd let alone land, masterclass by Floyd.

Floyd would be 41 if he fought Canelo again. He was already out of his prime when he fought him the first time.

lol you obviously haven't watched too many fights if you think this is as one sided a fight as you're ever gonna see without a knockdown. Most of the rounds were extremely close and difficult to score, take round 2 for example, which is what we've been discussing highlights how close and difficult to score it was.

In Canelo's postfight interview, Jim Gray moronically asked Canelo why he couldn’t take advantage of a supposed 15-lb weight advantage, which is ironic considering the fight was contracted at a catchweight of 152 lbs per Floyd’s demand. Obviously there was an agenda to highlight Canelo’s supposed weight advantage despite the catchweight which obviously was done to negate that supposed advantage. When asked this question, I don't think Canelo wanted to come across as complaining about the weight or act like he was robbed. He stated in effect that he couldn't catch Floyd, and made it clear that his inability to catch Floyd was why he lost. He then also stated that most of Floyd's punches were hitting his gloves, suggesting that neither him or Floyd were landing many clean punches. I'm guessing Canelo thought he could land more meaningful punches, but I don't see how that translates into Canelo not thinking it was close or that it was a masterclass by Floyd.

A better measurement of closeness would be to examine the rounds themselves and point out the best punches of the rounds and anything noteworthy that happened in the rounds which is what I’ve tried to do with Round 2. We can’t rely on post fight interviews to score a fight. I challenge you to look at this round by round and if you want to prove how one sided it was, then lets get into what happened in Round 2 and you can make your case. Otherwise, your merely saying it was one sided without providing anything to support that claim.

So you, @IsaL and @shadow111 think that Canelo's own comments on the fight are wrong:

"It was simple: I couldn't catch him. He was very elusive. He's a great fighter. I did not know how to get him. He is very intelligent. He's got a lot of experience. Honestly, I couldn't find him. In the later rounds, I felt frustrated. I recognize that he beat me. I tried to connect on him, but I just couldn't."

Alvarez, who suffered his first defeat in his 44th fight, said: "Obviously I didn't want to lose but it happens, it hurts but here I am.

"He’s very fast and accurate and more so when he is just trying to make points. His punches were not that strong but he was making points and is very fast.

"I had my plan and kept trying to work on it. He was very good and we did not have an answer."

I see a right hook landing at the end of the round, just before he throws the right to the head. You think it whiffed, I see it landing; just as I see Canelo's counter jab at two minutes remaining missing while you see it connecting.

We're at a point here where continued discussion may prove fruitless, since the conversation on both ends may venture into "This punch landed, no it didn't" territory for its remainder. It was a competitive round, to be certain and I don't necessarily hold it against anyone for thinking Canelo may have bagged it due to landing the single most eye-catching power punch of the round, but I still think Floyd did enough to take it and I'm content to leave it at that.

Ok I'll take another look,I love that fight as Floyd really brought it and was hitting hard that night,I'll take another look but I've seen it so many times and I honestly think you're giving Canelo points s for being game and if you believe Canelo either did enough to win or get a draw then I seriously don't what to say as this is not an example where the public have ever been divided on,Maidana caused Floyd far more probs than Canelo.

There's enough vids of Floyd landing on Canelo every round in slow mo for those that can't see but I fear you're right if someone chooses not see something there's nothing you can say,the media had it as an ass whooping and even Ego who loves Canelo says that.
