But it's all a myth. Tyson never KO'd anyone, they basically shat the bed and called it a day. Which, would mean, his opponents were frightened of a myth. Yeah. It never happened.
Twist anything to fit your agenda. You sound extremely amateurish with your psychoanalysis. Deranged behavior? It's called trying to intimidate your opponent. Let's not make a bigger deal out of it than what it actually was.
What's positive about acting up to try and intimidate people? Tyson has admitted he put it all on......
Tyson always left one wondering wether he was batting or bowling. His method of intimidation against Bruno was to pull down his budgie smugglers and expose his tallywacker to our Frank. It traumatised Bruno that much he once turned up at a racecourse thinking he was Frankie Dettori.......
Probably the most intimidating ring entrance of all time was Tyson's against Spinks. No music, just dreadful noise, chains clanging, with the beast making his way to the ring. It was all so inevitable. Poor Spinks must have wished he was somewhere else. Guys like Lewis and Wlad were intimidating in their own way but don't come close, Tyson had that controlled violent menace. After prison it was bravado and pretence though. People always point out the Mcneely stare down but I find it a bit cheesy myself, Mike was trying too hard to look mean and menacing, whereas as 80s Tyson just was. I'm not saying Tyson was the best ever but he was up there as one of the most intimidating fighters ever. I even think Lewis was a little spooked at first with the reality he was in with Tyson, until he settled down.
the old timers used to do that. as a historian Tyson just copied them. It probably worked as well, Tyson just knew how to use all methods of intimidating his opponents. Frank must have had a wtf moment after that.
I think the music had this ominous, dark tone. You could barely hear it. At the 1:00 mark you can hear Bob Sheridan explain the music. This content is protected
They had an SI Cover article before the Ruddock rematch in 1991 talking about Tyson, they talked about Tyson's intimidation of foes. Someone said "he intimidated some guys, but mostly he just used to hit them really hard". Pre-prison, I'd say these guys were the most intimidated: Bonecrusher Smith: he fought just to survive. Michael Spinks: I respect Spinks a lot as he was an ATG, but yes, he seemed pretty damn scared. Alex Stewart: he both looked it and fought it. Whatever his fear was, Frank Bruno gave a sincere effort the first time around. The rematch he was just holding the whole time.
Watch the second Holyfield fight and you can see that Mike is shook during the instructions. Mike is attempting to look intimidating there, but Holyfield just gazes back. He appeared loose, relaxed, and just focused. Before the instructions were over Mike looked down at the ground while Holyfield never broke eye contact.
Yep the bully met his match, Tyson at that moment in time wishes he could Star Trek the fcuk out of the joint......
Yeah. Tyson looked freaked out. He did NOT want to be there. Maybe that was better for him instead of overconfident.
What you babbling on about ? We're talking about Chisora, and yeah, i'd say his behavior was pretty deranged at times. I'm not doing psychoanalysis at all, the man is known to be weird. I have no desire to study it deeply. Chisora = a bit weird.
