Fan boys? You mean like guys who despite having your poster on their wall, and know every detail of your documented life, make fun of and belittle you?
I'd say I know more about Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano than you do but what importance is there in that? I don't have posters they are for little boys bedrooms,I have framed photos and prints of boxers in the study.
I'm not even saying you don't know more about them. You probably do. Which is why it's cringey that you criticize and make fun of him as often as you do. You often belittle his legacy, taking cheap shots at his personal life and boxing ability, while his mug overlooks your home. Very weird. Way more strange than a fanboy.
I don't make fun of him or any other boxer I respect. I'm objective about all boxers ,those I like and those I dislike .I just find the fan boy hero-worship, the unquestioning lapping up of every exaggerated fairy tale nauseating. Name one cheap shot I've made about a boxers personal life. When evaluating a fighter I concentrate solely on his ability I couldn't give a f*ck what he was like as a person. Time for my bed, I'm taking a couple of the grand kids to the fair tomorrow, before going to my local for some Real Ale ,need to be on form.
And you're the stoic monk who doesn't let anything bother him? When people have thick skin, you berate them to death. If anyone here has thin skin it's because you've already trashed the place with your childish toxicity. Why would we keep the walls clean if you keep wiping your crap everywhere.
Nothing much bothers me here ,I despise Mendoza for what he is ,but the rest of you have as much importance to me as I have to you. You need to put some Arnica or WitchHazel on those bruises, otherwise you won't be able to play tomorrow.
You have his memorabilia and posters, I don't. You're not very objective in my opinion. If baffles me that you can be so critical of Rocky, contrasting with your deep appreciation for Dempsey, when Dempsey got knocked out in one round. You'd have a field day with that kind of thing for Rocky, because the pattern I recognize is that you disproportionately shine light on unflattering aspects of his career. You don't seem to have a balanced, consistent viewpoint throughout. On the aspect of criticizing his personal life, I think I mistook you for someone else. And for that, I sincerely do apologize. I'm sorry.
At the risk of sounding hostile...Yes, you're a fanboy. Once you fall for an old-school fighter, you seem to lose any ability to assess them critically and dispassionately. You are unable or unwilling to recognize their limitations and flaws-- in some instances, you even pretend that well-known weaknesses of these fighters are actually unrecognized strengths. These men can do no wrong in your eyes. You gush like a fawning devotee when they execute fairly ordinary (and sometimes even subpar) punches and tactics, and you often offer clips of such action accompanied by hysterical, borderline delusional write-ups. You've even raved about the fairly ordinary physiques of certain fighters and basic, humdrum training footage. You are the epitome of a fanboy. Own the label. Embrace it.
Hey, Rez could be doing the opposite and downplaying Louis's or anyone else's resume, attributes, accomplishments, etcetera. You might think he's going overboard, we all go a little overboard sometimes, but maybe he sees something perceptive and brilliant that not many see. A certain significance of a fighter. You're allowed to be subjective with your arguments as well. i'm just pointing it out from another angle is all.
