If nothing else, this video (if accurate) serves as a reminder of how easily we can be influenced by factors such as commentary, ring generalship and presence, while somehow overlooking the most important aspect of any fight, punches landed. I watched the fight live and thought Floyd won, but after watching this video I have serious doubts as to the legitimacy of Mayweather's victory. Manny landed nearly twice as many punches and I find that surprising.

I always thought that was a premature stoppage.

It's intersting to me that several low-volume posters all coincidentally chose to post in this thread, unanimously in favor of Pacquiao.

The conspiracies surrounding when Pacquiao loses are hilarious.

    So far I've heard

    • Bob Arum set Pacquiao up
    • Top Rank needs the ppv money and the only way they get is if Pacquiao loses and has a rematch
    • The judges made an error on the scorecards and failed to notice the mistake
    • Pacquiao lost on purpose because he wanted to make a star out of his opponent
    • The illuminati are furious with Manny for being a Christian who is against same sex marriages and so they made an example out of him by feeding Marquez steroids

I have seen most of these videos and they are garbage. Same with compubox. Its funny that compubox was garbage for May-Pac but was perfectly OK for Pac-Horn. Same with steroids. Its not Ok to accuse my fighter without proof but I can claim steroids all day long when it suits me. Pac fans have no issue going against the grain on public perception on who won May-Pac but use that same evidence of public perception as evidence in Pac-Horn. Its hypocrisy at its finest. The fact is boxing is judged by 4 criteria not slo mo punches. The fact that the judges were unanimous in 10 out of the 12 rounds for May-Pac speaks volumes. It takes years for to become a professional judge.

The scorecard error actually happened. A judge tallied up his scorecard incorrectly resulting in a Draw for Pac instead of a Win. This is an irrefutable fact.

Your last 2 points... I've never heard those ones. And I'd call BS on them.

Arum definitely set Pac up. Same way Team Ward/Roc Nation set Kovalev up.

2nd point is just weird. And I don't think it's a plausible argument.

Everyone ridiculed Pacquiao when he said he thought he won the fight but he obviously genuinely thought he did and tbh can you blame him?

Let's take a look at the three:

    Pacquiao
    • Wanted blood testing to cease 24 days out from fight night; unlimited urine okay. We know that Pac blamed his loss to Erik Morales because he felt having blood taken from him on fight night weakened him... this was YEARS before Pac-May.
    • A little weird, but hardly a red flag as most PED experts agree that PED use benefits happen BEFORE and AT THE EARLY STAGES of training (where Pac would be giving blood).
    Marquez
    • Was taken deep by guys like Diaz and Katsidis
    • Hired Memo, lied about it, and then lied some more
    • Blew up in size and muscle
    • Unlimited stamina, showed unlimited stamina, and increased punching power and speed at age 39
    • Ducked VADA testing in the Bradley fight
    • Showed up to the Mike Alvarado fight w/ massive amounts of acne on his chest and back; then threw 5-7 punch combinations all night along and sent Alvarado halfway across the ring (LOL)
    Mayweather
    • 150 pounds 30 days out
    • Has never had trouble making weight (he and his fans love reminding the boxing public of this fact)
    • Passed all pre-fight medical exams and was approved for combat
    • Goes home after the weigh in and receives 750 ml of IV fluids (banned under WADA code) in his home instead of a hospital
    • Gave the excuse that he was "severely dehydrated," which is impossible because he passed pre-fight medical exams, looked strong as an ox at the weigh in (zero sign of being drained), and had access to water
    • Ducked VADA
    • Received a TUE 18 days after the fight

All those conspiracies have been peddled including the last one about the illuminati getting involved and manny being so gracious that he wanted to see a star born out of Horn for the long term benefit of the sport. I did not make them up, they're plastered all over the internet.

He was referring to the switched scorecard theory where they got May-Pac backwards. The Ward Kovalev fight was not a set up. Kovalev won 4 out of the first 5 rounds. They would not have gave him that many rounds in the beginning for for a fight they were going to set him up in. What if Kov got another knockdown in the later rounds? Score wise this would have been impossible to overcome and give to Ward. The fact is Kov gave up very round after the 5th to Ward. Trust me I lost sleep over this fight but after looking at the facts it was not a setup.

No, Pac won the fight... But the switched scorecard was just silly. Pac needed a KO to win.

As for Kovalev-Ward 2, the ref was highly partial to Ward and allowed him to throw low blows. Bad stoppage as well.

So you are saying Manny is the only one innocent here? Nobody failed any drug tests. I would say all could be guilty but if the glove doesn't fit you must acquit. Mayweather was the one who demanded more drug testing in the first place going 6 years out. Everyone thought Manny was juicing. You are being a little hypocritical here.

    ******ed thread.

I guess I'll have to deal with this kind of **** until floyd vs connor is done. Maybe even a month after that. Everytime floyd or pac fight, the forums are pure crap.
