If Tyson had him on bambi legs like Whyte and Wlad did it would've been ended right there and them.

Yeah Tyson is a really bad matchup for Joshua... Truth be told I think Wlad at 37-38 sparks Joshua inside 5-6 rounds.

not sure why nearly every post on this thread mentions the weight difference between Tyson and Joshua.

weight and height are marginal factors compared to reach (which correlates with height, but weakly)

Tyson is 5' 10" and had a 71" reach (approx same as GGG)

Joshua is 6' 6" and has an 82" reach

that's a massive reach disparity to overcome

Razor Ruddock (a few inches shorter and maybe 20 pounds ligher than Joshua) has the same reach as Joshua and Tyson KO'd Ruddock.

on the other hand, even in his prime, Tyson had trouble with less-than-elite fighters with big wingspans--eg, Bonecrusher Smith, 82"; Mitch Green, 82". Tyson in his prime wasn't able to knock those fighters out, though he was routinely KO'ing better fighters around the same time but with smaller reach.

Hell even the semi-shot Wlad of 3 months ago would've turned the trick had he not listened to his brother and pressed for a finish.

To be fair guys like Smith and Green came to survive and go the distance. Joshua wouldn't fight that way. I agree with the rest of what you said though.

Those fighters - Green, Smith, Tucker etc - had very good movement and skill sets. Joshua is brute force and power. Look how he gassed in the 5th round in the Klitschko fight. It took him till the 8th round to full recover. Wladimir's lack of killer instinct allowed AJ back into that fight.

The last GREAT slick and really durable superheavyweight was Lennox Lewis.

AJ only got tired against Wlad because he punched himself out after having Wlad in trouble, do you really feel Bruno would have the stamina to come back from that KO, he would never have got up from that right and neither would Tyson. AJ would knock Bruno out in 2 rounds if he was fighting today, go watch a film study! Are you American?!

People are overrating the opponents of someone like Joshua and underestimating the skill of and fighters that someone like Bruno beat. Bruno destroys everyone else on AJs record and maybe even beats old Wlad.
    Prime Tyson obliterates AJ.

This is not an argument about Bruno being better than AJ. AJ will have the same stamina issue against Tyson, his only real shot in the fight will be to go for broke immediately and while doing that he will risk punching himself out.
Lol, Tyson has proven his chin in all his fights, he would have eaten that Klitschko right hand comfortably and would not even have been floored. On the other hand, AJ will have to many holes in his game which Tyson will exploit comfortably.

prime Tyson would blow Joshua away after a few competitive rounds. Against Wlad he gets the job done in the first round. Total mismatch

Honestly, I'm 80% in favour of post-Wlad AJ.
