Not seen Farrell but there'll be a lot of domestic fighters that can beat Davies, Davies is very poor.
Lol, for a title right after a loss. Wonder how SKy will spin that? Haven't seen enough of Farrell to call this yet
Eddie will probably get Davis a can to knock over before he gos in to this, then Davis is going in off a win. Eddies probably already agreed this with WBA
No I dont think thats fair on Davis. Davis is good domestic level and the only lads that beat Davis domesticaly will be the ones that go onto higher levels. Such as Taylor will.
Tyrone Mckenna, Jack Catterall, Josh Leather, Sam Maxwell, Robbie Davies Jr, Jason Easton, etc - I'd expect most of them to beat Ohara. Ohara has poor technique, poor punch resistance, lacks heart, lacks amateur pedigree, is too slow... He's a very flawed fighter he was totally exposed, no chance he gets past domestic level. In fact there's a good chance he becomes a journeyman.
I don't believe for a second all those fighters beat Davies. Taylor took advantage of flaws his skill set allowed him too. Not all our domestic fighters have power to upset Davies, lateral movement to offset him, inside game to rough him up or speed and timing to outbox him and catch and shoot and punish mistakes. For all Davies' flaws, I actually still thinks he beats most of our 140 fighters. The fight with Farrell will tell us more, how he recovers from first loss but he still carries power, remains awkward and out with Taylor has been hard to hit with more than single punches. We'll see though! I might be wrong, I agree about technical flaws but he uses that awkward style to work for him. He was out boxed by world class prospect, none of our other 140 come close to Josh Taylor.
I said most of them. That Taylor fight might have taken a lot out of him. Yeah Josh Taylor is leagues above them all, it was a total mismatch, I don't see what positives the quitter Ohara can take from that loss apart from a pay cheque which is all he seems bothered about.
I guess we'll see but no, I don't think most of them will beat Davies. I think Davies gives all of them real problems but we'll find out in next 12-18 month I guess. Davies deserves flak but people are going OTT, one minute he's a monster and one defeat later he's a bum. He's a very solid in between fighter. I don't rate Leather, McKenna etc Even Caterall as a counter puncher fights with wide stance and leaves himself open with he opens up, he'll be beaten before world level, Davies or not. Davies power is big equaliser at this level.
Davies has a reputation has a puncher yes against journeymen, but look what happened with his first live opponent and josh wasn't troubled in the slightest against OD. I think his hand & footwork are way too slow for him to go past euro level
Only one on that list who I would fancy to beat Davies right now is Catterall. Others may after more experience but would be surprised if they beat him right now.
