My recommendation to the list is a more recent fighter, and one who didn't fulfil his potential because of a career-ending injury: 'Grandmaster' Dmitry Pirog.

yes. to me, defense is standing right in the middle of oncoming fire and dodging all the bullets like rain couldnt touch you. using your legs to stay out of punching range, hell, i can do that.

    As
As much as I love to watch the above 4 mentioned...I have never agreed with the running aspect aimed at guys who box on the back foot. Every fighter adapts to their own ability and works on what talents/attributes they possess.

Not having a dig but I usually feel the running claim is made by those who leave a fight unhurt but were chasing shadows all evening.

I appreciate the skill level of these back foot boxers but to me it shows negativity and a lack of creativity and their fights can often be boring.

We also have the Italians to thank for their dull 'Catenacchio' style of football ;)

Yeah I would agree certain boxers can be very negative using that style, Andre Dirrell for example.
However the long term aim of the game is to hit without be hit in professional boxing. Longevity is the key, so needs must.

However I appreciate your point of view.
