I see a lot of people rooting for Broner? Did he do something to gain your respect?

if he wins, he should go back up and get KO'd by the Thurman.

 

1. He's an Ohio kid, I'm always gonna root for them.

2. He gets a lot of flack from fans for **** outside the ring when
they should focus on what's inside the ring. He's a lot better than
people give him credit for.

3. Mikey (who I also like,) has been showing a lot of hubris lately
and I think he and too many others see this fight as a foregone conclusion.

4. Broner, whether some want to admit it or not really is a physical specimen.
His level of dedication to training reminds me of James Toney, he truly believes
he can just walk in and murk anyone.

Honestly, Broner is one of the few higher level name fighters that legitimately don't
care who they fight, they'll literally fight anyone because they truly believe they'll win.

 

So people should ignore how Broner acts and conducts himself outside the ring, yet should slight and root against Garcia for how he, on what seems pretty dubious evidence, acts and conducts himself outside the ring? I see.

And in Broner's case his belief that he can jump in there and beat anyone isn't admirable. Great if it actually won fights... but because despite his confidence he loses or struggles so much it's HIM not Mikey who sufferes from hubris. That he merely trains 'hard' also indicates that hopeless overconfidence. If he had the humility and self-awareness to train 'smart' he might improve his skill and tactics, and make more of his physical talent.

The reasons you list are only reasons to give up on Broner, and root for an elite boxer-puncher like Mikey Garcia to trounce him badly and put an end the **** show. Broner knows how to take a good beating, so it'll be fun watching it happen

 

What I have seen alot lately is that your race and or ethnicity matters to a lot of fans. If you are an African-American you will be backed by them. Same goes for Mexicans and Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans etc..all based on race or ethnicity. You can see it in boxing forums and YouTube videos and comments. They are biased because of that detail.

To me personally I don't give a fvck about race. I am Hispanic (Mexican American) and I currently have a Ukrainian (Lomanchecko) as my favorite boxer. Before that was an Argentine (Sergio Martinez). And what got me in to liking boxing was Julio Cesar Chavez and Mike Tyson, as a kid.

 

This is essentially it. Mikey and his people have been talking Mikey up so much -- and saying Broner has no chance and is going to get violently wiped out by Garcia -- to the point whereby people are getting behind Broner. With some of the comments they've made, and given Broner's durability, it even feels to me like team Garcia is overlooking Broner as a threat.
