No, I didn't particularly enjoy the ending. I wanted to see Ward lay the TOMATO KAN Krusher out on his back. Having said that, the stoppage was good. Kanvolev had already checked out of the fight before it was stopped..

 

I'd love to see it overturned and a rematch ordered. Those nut shots were BS.

The problem is simple. No sane fan, critic, or video reviewer will say that Kov got hit in the nuts. Only you cry babies saw nut shots lol...

 

Kovalev was in the fetal position, Krushed from legal belt-line body shots. The last punch was below the belt but above the nuts.

There were no nut shots, only nuts saying there were. It's impossible for a guy to know where a body punch is landing when your opponent is hunched over in a fetal position. It's not like hitting someone below the belt-line while your opponent is hunched over is the same as hitting someone below the belt-line while your oppoenent is just standing up normally. Tony Weeks had seen enough, and where the last punch landed wasn't what caused Weeks to step in and stop it. Kovalev's body language, lack of punching back, lack of defending himself and his repeated lobbying for 5 minutes from shots that were belt-line legal caused the stoppage.

 

I really, really hope that Ward meets his Golota and coughs his pills up in the same way.

 

The fight should be changed but it won't be and my sympathy is limited. Kovalev/ Duva agreed to defend the titles against Ward in the states with four U.S officials for the money to start with, even knowing the extent of corruption they would be up against. Then the fact that the belt was taken from them as a result of that corruption allowed Ward to bury his head in the sand and go "ner ner can't hear you" when they started requesting a fair shake for the rematch.

The right thing to do would have been to make Ward come to Russia for his shot and with four officials who were at minimum neutral and at best Russian. Greed got the better of them, simple as.
