if the ref started counting kovalev would have took a knee and stayed down for the entire 10 seconds and we'd be in the same place. They were fairly high. . That idiot posted a pic of Kovalev AFTER the fight. The corner always pull their guys body protecter up as high as they can during the fight.

The belt line came up over the navel so punches to that area were on the body and not anywhere near the ball area.

You do realize that the reasons Kovalev was mad before the fight is because the judges were corrupt, HBO was pushing Ward and marketing him, showing strong bias towards him. I think most people would be mad. If someone poisoned a fighter before a match or broke his leg, you would probably just see that as a legit tactic to get inside the opponents head.

As should be obvious to anyone...his cup was located in that region, throughout the fight, and his trunks were sliding slighty down as it progressed.

well first lets get the terminology correct, first we have a groin protector for boxing, a cup is used in football, and baseball.

When a fighter enters the ring the referee determines the location of the groin protector and decides what is legal and what is not legal based where the fighter is wearing his groin protector.

The referee in this case clearly points to where he is going to allow the fighters to work and clearly states right here is good.

Therefore any punches in that spot have already been declared good by the referee.

The "B" lettering on his trunks was not very high, in fact it was consistent with the groin region throughout the fight. You just wanted to disrespect a fighter with emasculating insults from the safety of your computer.

please see attatched picture of "GROIN PROTECTOR" notice in particular where the nutsack is located. wards punches are no where near the nut sack.
