Using instinct we know who backed out. Bowe backed out from Lennox like Floyd did from Manny.. You don'tneed talk and who said what to figure it out. Lennox fought everyone and so did Manny.. Guys like that do not back out. Speaks for itself.

 

Small spanner in the works there pal, Floyd did fight Manny......

 

He fought him 6 years after he could have fought him, when Manny was prime. Floyd ducked him for years and used excuses. Bowe did not fight Lennox and ducked him. Floyd fought Manny after Manny was knocked cold. No fighter is the same after being knocked cold. And Manny losing now just a short time after the Floyd fight shows how diminished he was when Floyd fought him. All of Floyd's career he picked guys at the right time.

 

The "ducking" going on between Bowe and Lewis was largely political and management related. Finding relevant news paper articles is not difficult. Anyone that thinks Bowe was afraid of Lewis even though he signed up for the rematch with Golota after getting an unholy trashing the first time around, is crazy.

But as I always said, history has treated Lennox well. You often hear people complaining about a nostalgic perspective when it comes to the likes of Louis and Ali, but the revisionism regarding Lewis and his career is just as bad.

 

Bowe as the undisputed champion at the time generally gets the main share of the blame for the fight not happening by fans yet the funny thing is personally I would have quite confidently felt that he would have actually won that fight if it was made then so I do see it as a big missed opportunity for Bowe. Looking back now, Bowe probably deep down feels the same.

 

Lennox fought some legendary fights,and Bowe really didn't except Evander.

 

Legendary fights in terms of what? Publicity or actual quality of opposition? Because I'd say the trilogy with Holyfield has Lewis' best win(s) certainly beat in the second aspect.

 

No one seems to mention Lennox "ducking" John Ruiz and Chris Byrd...

I don't know why this is even debated.

 

I don't think calling fighters out has any form of credibility in the boxing world. Boxing is a business, and fighters do a lot of barking to get the social buzz going. We've seen Foreman call Tyson out ever since his comeback in 1987. It created a buzz and to this day fans think Bowe and Tyson ducked him while Big George has gone on record stating the opposite. Neither guy ducked anyone.

The media always needs a story to sell. Remember that.

 

Do you feel Lennox ducked Byrd and Ruiz?

 

Because Lewis had the 'better career' I think he does get a free pass in a lot of things.
