Diego De La Hoya, Joseph Diaz, Alex Saucedo and Jose Carlos Ramirez have become jokes to me.
They've been professional for so many years now. If you're young but experienced, you're as ready as you can be. Your next phase of learning comes from actually fighting the best.

 

Well that applies to almost every top prospect, I'm incredibly disappointed by the management of the 2016 Olympians.

 

They simply do not need a minimum of 4 years like they're spending. Naoya Inoue for example wasn't a standout amateur, nor was he known for having as much skill as other opponents, but he was only 5 fights in before getting a world title.

Who are you thinking about btw?

 

All of them, Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, debuted as a pro and hasn't fought again, the same for Carlos Balderas and Eimantas Stanionis.
Antonio Vargas is fighting in univision cards, the same for Teofimo Lopez and Jeyvier Cintron.
Charles Conwell hasn't fought in a televised match if I'm right.
Look at the activity level of Floyd Mayweather or Oscar Dela Hoya when they turned pro, these guys should be fighting every month considering the level of opposition that they are facing.

 

Wait, what? Inoue was a beast in the amateurs; his debut was hotly anticipated.

Alan Connelly is not turning pro in the end It is weird how none of these new fighters are even fighting. That's fair enough, but I still don't agree with the fighters I mentioned and the complete lag in their career - it looks like OCD level baby steps to me. You learn a lot by actually fighting people that are going to test you. Top prospects don't learn a great deal by knocking out a random for fun every two months.

The consistency of top Japanese prospects (who at their best are not exactly other worldly) getting titles rather early or at least contender level, is more evidence that the snails pace is just wasting time.
What Lomachenko learned in the Salido, Russell Jr and Gamalier fight is more than what anyone would've learned fighting 15 randoms.

He was a beast but he wasn't. His progression made him rather beastly, he didn't stand out in the Youth Worlds, though. I'd have only fully believed he was a beast in ams if he wasn't outclassed by the only two elite amateurs he fought, in Veitia and Zhakypov. People are so high on an Inoue who to me has the same flaws which haven't been exposed yet for him to learn from, by elite opponents.

Big fan of Diego , ive had an eye on him for a few years now. A main header of this magnitude deserves to have a great undercard.
