He's not struggling. It's just he's far keener to make a fight against Selby than he is against Russell Jr. It's a more winnable fight, makes more money and he still gets a title shot. No brainer, still think he should have made weight though. Regardless of whether he wants to fight for the WBC or not this just looks unprofessional.

I'm not saying you're wrong but I've just read a quote saying..

"I tried everything I could to cut down, but unfortunately, my body just wouldn't allow it in the end"

If his body isn't allowing it now then why would his body allow it in his next fight? Sounds to me like he basically has no choice but to move up if he is telling the truth.

A lot of bitter begrudging posts ^.
People predicting the demise of Frampton and almost gloating about it.
Let's hope he proves the naysayers wrong.

I can understand people upset he didn't make weight, that is completely unprofessional and inexcusable.

But I agree, I don't understand why people take pleasure in the fact he failed to make weight.

It's called toeing the line. He's hardly going to come out and say "I don't want to fight that super fast ****er Russell Jr so I'm basically going to bin this eliminator", is he?
He's been at 126 for less than a year and weighed in at a comfy 125 dead against Santa Cruz just 6 months ago. He isn't a big FW, at all, and he wasn't even a particularly big SBW. There was never any talk of him struggling to make 122 before he moved up, he only did so to fight Santa Cruz instead of Rigondeaux.

Same story with Tyson Fury - people on here celebrating his demise and making wise craics when said he was going to retire.

If he actually can't make 126, I'm sorry to say but his career at top level will be over. Look at his short stumpy arms, and he doesn't have a broad back. He's a natural super bantam who moved up to feather to challenge certain guys not because he outgrew the division, no way is he a super feather. At 130 he'd be at a horrible size disadvantage against Berchelt and Davis, and against Loma he'd do worse than Sosa.

Anyway, hope he looks good tomorrow. And that he's able to stay at feather and gets a Selby fight, then Santa Cruz/Mares/Russell.

I don't take any pleasure from it myself. However I don't like his and his teams diva tendencies and being able to still fight without a fine just because they are the A side.

A quick Google corroborates what you're saying, fair enough. it must have been drowned out by all the accusations of ducking Rigo because I genuinely didn't have an inkling that he was too big for 122 at the time, my mistake. I still don't believe he's outgrown 126 within a year though.

That's garbage news. I was actually looking forward to this one, especially to see how hot or cold Frampton blew. Oh well.

Cut to chin?? Pics on twitter looks like a nasty gash on his jawline area....pity but Carl didn't seem to be taking it too serious with the weight issue so not too bothered myself.
