This doesnt even make sense. Ali had one of the GREATEST CHINS OF ALL TIME. So u cant compare Holy to that

It is not unreasonable. Holyfield likes to brawl and he hets hit in there. Shavers could catch him with a straight righ hand.

He could do. But the best he's going to achieve is a knock down. No way does a fighter of Holyfield's calibre get KOed by someone like Shavers.

Absolutely in Ali's class. Who managed to knock Holyfield down? Not Tyson, Lennox or Foreman. That indicates a top class chin, just tell me it doesn't.

Holy only had half way good defense when with Benton. After that 4get it He wanted too brawl with everyone. So go brawl with Shavers and your outcome is 50/50.
Holy so overrated on here its gotton out of purportion!!

Holyfield is the huge favorite here. He's not prone to getting stopped early and nor is he prone to going out from one shot. His durability is superb and despite brawling here and there he has some nice moves going on.

Earnie has been battered by far lesser fighters than Evander and early too at times. He's not hard to hit and his stamina and durability is somewhat poor.

Having said all that i would not ridicule anyone going the upset. If every fight went according to the odds there would never be upsets.

As for Evander being overrated i think it's hard to overrate the guy. His list of achievements is legendary and he was very potent for a long period of time before being solid for ages once past it too.

Frazier, Shavers, Norton and Holmes all kicked Ali's ass too. Not sure where you're going with that line of reasoning.

True. I can't believe anyone would question Holy's heart and durability, let alone his achievements.

Just clueless, some people round here.

And some people act like Holy is a God here. Braxton fight could have gone either way. Washed up Dokes gave him hell. Cyze or how ever u spell it gave him hell Vaugn Bean almost beat him ..maybe did?
Lewis beat his ass twice Ruiz beat him twice floored him and had him hanging on Toney beat the living sh#t out of him. He beat a past it Tyson. Bowe beat his ass 3 times. Moorer beat him. Cooper almost stopped him while using on 1 weeks notice. Stewart gave him all he could handle in the first fight and and Old Holmes fighting off the ropes also gave him all he could handle.
Since when did Shavers beat Ali?
All the above guys except for a past it Tyson gave Holy all he could handle. Dont put Holy in the same category as Ali.
Your just a blind Holy fan boy. For the record I cant stant Ali.

I'm not a Holyfield fanboy you imbecile, I'm just calling you out on your rampant BS. Holy had an ATG chin and heart and was only ever stopped by the very best or when way past his prime. Pointing out how so and so dropped or hurt him is a fool's game. Ali was plenty hurt by lesser punchers as well. Yet he almost always found a way back into the fight. Same deal with the Real Deal.

You can't venerate Ali and denigrate Holyfield when it comes to toughness and will to win. They were cut from the same cloth.

I kinda agree with you. But Holyfield's chin is all time and ranks up with Ali, Mercer, Chuvalo, Cobb, Foreman, Tyson, with McCall being the undisputed top chin of all time. Remember Holyfield started out as a light heavyweight in his pro debut.

I feel Holyfield has trouble with history's greatest heavyweights. I just see him struggling with dozens of guys with different styles. He should be Top 10 all time at heavyweight but my main criteria is having a successful title reign, but Holyfield didn't have more than 3 successful defenses, if I am correct. For me, that puts him down a few notches so he'd have to create an excellent resume of accomplishments to make up for it. And I feel he does.

His career had so many ups and down, mainly he'd lose when he was supposed to win and win BIG when he was considered all but done. I think I currently rate him at #11 at heavyweight. He fought everyone! But his inconsistency bothers me. Head to head he doesn't place in my Top 10.
