To me Charles looks like he's not the same fighter from the first fight. Like Arguello or Meldrick Taylor in their ballyhooed rematches who left pieces of themselves in the ring against Pryor and Chavez, Charles was finished after that brutal beating in the first Marciano fight.
Charles was just way to brave for his own good in the first fight. The punishment he took from rock with out going down! Marciano was just going to keep banging away at Charles and would have for another ten rounds if needed be whilst ezz would have carried on soaking it up. And it's not as if Charles was in his prime, so the body can't take it like it used to. So come the rematch it's just a matter of time before Rock smashes the resistance out of him. But I salute Ezzard Charles for giving it every thing in the rematch, he came close with the injuries to marciano , but he was facing a machine in there.
